Thanks Jake! That seems to have done the trick. Attaching latest files. Hope it will help someone. Best. M2400_10.11.5_Final.zip

I have the RTL8188cu USB wifi adapter. I'm totally okay purchasing another wifi adapter you mentioned if that fixes my problem. If you know any other USB wifi adapters that might also work better, please let me know. The one you mentioned is seems to be terribly expensive not to mention, too large to carry plugged in (mine as like 2 millimeters long). I'm almost at the point risking a BIOS update to get rid of my wifi whitelist. However, I've not been able to find BIOS for my model. And I did try all possible combinations. Booting with wifi stick, booting without then plugging it in,...all possible things. Simply non workable at this point.

@JakeLo First I should have mentioned, sometimes after resuming from sleep battery indicator stops working. It is like a coin toss. Now, I tried your DSDT 4 times. Each time it continued to show me battery status. So I guess your DSDT "worked". Which brings me to... Second, I had to patch my DSDT and use USB injection to get all my USB ports working. So the DSDT in my first post might not be the latest. I'm attaching my latest DSDT here. The reason is with your DSDT, all my USB ports stopped working. If you could tell me what changes you made, I could also try to make them myself. Thanks much. dsdt_usb_patched.aml.zip

I'm happy to report I'm past my hardware issues with this laptop. It took one more round of disassembly and re-assembly. For a grand cost of $35 to build a laptop, I'm damn proud of myself Everything I want is working (of course no SD card but I never care). I have 10.11.5 running on it !!! As always, there is one annoyance. I have latest battery manager, hw monitor, fake smc kexts. Battery meter working. However after resume me, Battery meter tells me I don't have a battery. HW Monitor continues to show me battery and % charge left. Wanted to know if I would need to patch my battery kext? Totally weird why I see battery status when I reboot, but only after resume from sleep laptop continues to run without power supply connected, but says I have no battery.

@Jake Lo. If you mean after laptop goes to sleep, I first remove the USB wifi, then press power button...Yes, I tried that and it did not make difference. I have to power cycle. By the "app" if you mean the wifi app that lets me specify my wifi password, if you can please tell me what you mean by "remove it". It is in Applications folder. Uninstall it? Will wifi password still persist and/or any other way to specify password?

I think I've just reached the point of no return here. With USB wifi card plugged in, I can reach real sleep or pretend sleep. However, with it plugged in, laptop will NOT resume. Methinks will buy a docking station and use with Windows on the road. Need a break from this laptop. One thing is for sure, not ever buying a Lenovo.

I kept USB kext All in /S/L/E and USB injected in config.plist. Like I said, if I use old DSDT laptop is not really sleeping. The only difference is with my config.plist, display comes back ON, and with yours display does stays OFF. However, like I said, the fan is still ON so it is not really sleeping like it does with new DSDT.
-
Okay trying with what you said. While I'm doing that, one question. Should I use your USB Inject All kext? I did try but did not make a difference. Not sure how old DSDT will work because Sleep was not working with it, which is what this is all about. Now there is No MacBook Air 7.1 or 7.2. There is a MacBook Pro 7.1, but that is Intel Core 2 Duo while I have an i5 processor. So if you can please clarify that. I'm keeping my SMBios for now and trying with older DSDT (though not sure how that will help). EDIT : Like I thought it sleeps and resumes immediately. Only difference now is that display does not come on, but fan comes on. So it is pretending to sleep but not really asleep. If I could ask you to check if your laptop is really sleeping? The good news - USB does work , but like I said laptop really didn't sleep

Thank you Reema. I will work with your config.plist and try removing stuff I don't need one at a time to see if things work. For me none of the 3 USB ports on my T510i worked after resume. I have removed AppleHDA patch to start with, Will report progress below... 1) Garbled Desktop. You are using SMBios MacBookPro12,1. Not sure what your laptop is. I'm using MacBookPro6,2 which I believe is correct for my laptop. You are also injecting Intel Graphics, I'm not. Also EDID, which I'm not. Will fix these items and try. 2) Replaced SMBios to MacBookPro6,2 and Inject Intel Graphic = NO. Able to boot. After resume, no USB ports are not working. So with just those two changes so I can boot into OS, your config.plist did not make any difference.

Hi Reema, First appreciate you taking the time to help. Now, this is the first time I'm using Clover and Lenovo laptop. Always used Chameleon/Enoch with Dells. I simply could not get Enoch USB to boot with this Lenovo and it took me some time to get it to boot with Clover. The USB ports work fine on reboot, so I don't think any USB injection is necessary. Like has been established, DSDT edits were necessary to get sleep to work. With those DSDT edits, USB continued to work on reboot. Only after resuming from sleep USBs stop working until I reboot again. I could totally do without having a USB thumb drive working after reboot. How many times we use thumb drives anyway? My issue is because wifi cards are whitelisted I need to use USB wifi, and it would be a real pain every time after resume I have to reboot to get wifi to work. I'm attaching before and after files like you asked. Like you surmised, I considered it is my config.plist that may be the issue. So I tried turning USB "off" in the config.plist devices section. It did not make any difference to the behavior. USBs always work on reboot, and with the DSDT I can get laptop to sleep with, I lose USB after resume. The difference between the two DSDTs is I replaced EHC1/EHC2 with EH01/EH02, and then I removed _PRW under exactly 2 devices which was sufficient to get laptop to sleep. I initially removed all _PRW devices and that also let laptop sleep, but the reason I put most of the _PRWs back was because I was wondering if being aggressive with _PRW removal was the reason my USBs were not working after resume. I really hope you can find something in my config.plist. Best. dsdt_usb_nosleep.zip dsdt_usb_sleep_nousbafter.zip

Reema. It is only with my "new" DSDT with the changes I mentioned was I able to get sleep working. However in the process I lost USB after resuming from sleep. USBInject is not working for me either with your kext or with what Herve said. Even with my OLD DSDT if I Inject USB kext I lose USB ports. With Old DSDT my USB worked fine, but since sleep didn't the USB problem didn't surface. I'm going to play with adding back PRWs to my DSDT. If not, keep trying something else.

Sorry, but i did fix my "instant resume after sleep" problem with DSDT edits. I mentioned them above. My problem now is that AFTER resuming from sleep, my USB ports work no more. My USB ports do work after restart/powercycle. That's why I'm asking if USB injections is going to help me at all here.
-
Couple of questions I looked at the Info.plist from REEMA. It does not even have the appropriate XML nodes for ports at all. So I think you are saying I should add them. In your post, the picture on the right is telling you what to add into the Info.plist. How did you obtain that picture. Is it from IOReg? Finally, my USB ports are working fine, only after sleep they don't work. The only other time I had issue with USB ports not working was when they were not working period. At that time I remember you asking me for IOReg for that dell laptop and then gave me an USB Inject. Unfortunately that was for Precision M6300 which I gave away so I can't check my assumption above. If you can please clarify.
-
Okay so that didn't work. Maybe I was too aggressive with the PRW removals?
-
So guys I finally fixed my "instant resume after sleep" problem. The solution was 1) rename EHC1/2 to EH01/02. 2) remove _PRW sections from the DSDT everywhere except under LID and SLPB. However now I have another issue. I've googled but not getting anywhere. My problem is after resuming from sleep my USB ports no longer work. Apparently my DSDT changes were able to turn USB ports off and so I am able to sleep, but on wakeup, the USB ports are not getting powered again. I'm guessing here of course. Is their some USB injection kext fix, perhaps?

I had installed 10.11.3 on E6500 and had Sleep/Resume working. I had installed 10.11.5 on E6510 and never got laptop to sleep. I learnt it is not possible Now I upgrade 10.11.3 to 10.11.5 on E6500, and Sleep is broken. So first, trying to understand why upgrade broke sleep. And second, if it can be fixed on the E6500, maybe I could use same trick on E6510 (maybe it could work there as well). But don't want to get ahead of myself. Just want to fix E6500 first. I've already tried setting hibernatemode to 0 and no difference. Attaching my files. Sleep is so fundamental . Appreciate any help. sudo pmset -g Active Profiles: Battery Power -1 AC Power -1* Currently in use: hibernatemode 0 halfdim 1 lidwake 1 womp 1 networkoversleep 0 sleep 10 ttyskeepawake 1 disksleep 10 hibernatefile /var/vm/sleepimage displaysleep 10 e6500_10.11.5_NoSleep.zip

@herve. Unfortunately I don't see one for my thinkpad T510. https://github.com/RehabMan/Laptop-DSDT-Patch/tree/master/battery Can I try some other laptop's patch?
-
@herve. I do have 2.4GHz and 5.0Ghz, and I'm aware of this. Actually I never use same SSID for both. Meanwhile, I used some fat rubber stoppers to elevate the laptop, my wifi hasn't dropped once since. I will continue monitoring for a few weeks, before I try El Capitan. I finally fixed my HWMonitor / FakeSMC issue. I always get confused when FakeSMC has the sensor kexts embedded and when they don't.
-
Thanks Jake. Bookmarked that URL for future reference. However, my brightness issues got solved by simply installing RehabMan's IntelBacklight kext. I was using ACPIBacklight kext earlier.
-
@Jake Lo The wifi card I always use DW1510 supported out of the box without any kexts. Never had any issues with it. I'm wondering now if my problem is heat related. Problem is I haven't found HWMonitor that works for me. Gives me weird numbers for temperature in like 1000 degrees and 1013% for battery etc. I'm trying to fix that so I can monitor temperature and see if there is any co-relation. I got this laptop all messed up and fixed it all up myself, cleaning it up and everything. Now I'm wondering if I didn't do good job fixing the heat sink to the CPU.

For first time I am able to get COMPLETE laptop working without any help Well, no of course not. How can I not have any problems. So everything I want to work normally, works. I don't care that much about SD Card. Everything else including the all important "Sleep" works. However I have one stupid issue with wifi. Actually several. Please bear with me while I describe all. 1) Wifi will randomly disconnect. I have to connect it to my network again. 2) Wifi will randomly disconnect. I can't connect it to my wifi again. I have to turn it off, then on, then it will connect. 3) Wifi will slow down randomly. I have to turn it off and then on and it will work again. 4) Wifi will some time refuse to turn on after I've turned it off to solve 1-3. I have to restart 5) Wifi will not be detected sometimes when I try to solve 4. Says I have no wifi device, like it disappeared!. ONLY way to get it working again is to unseat, reseat wifi card physically. I'm not imagining this. I've been observing this for last 2 weeks while I've been working on other laptops on the side. I've attached my Extra folder. Any pointers appreciated. M2400_10.10.5.zip

Sorry I thought I mentioned already my wake reason from syslogs is EHC2. I followed instructions on the DSDT patch url you linked but like I said above, it didn't work. My DSDT which I attached does have the patch. And hibernatemode was 3 I changed it to 0. Made no difference. Sleeps, then wakes up immediately.

Wanted to know if this fix will work on a Thinkpad T510. My brightness settings are also not getting saved on 10.11.5. So if I can at least start computer with desired brightness instead of 100%, that would help.
-
Thanks Jake. Unfortunately I'm not able to get it to work. I added the Sleep Fix. I also have the DTGP fix already. That should be it I'm thinking. Shutdown and Restart not a problem for me. The effect is same. Sleeps, then wakes up. Any other suggestions? DSDT-Patched-May2016.aml.zip

QE/CI working with 10.11.5 !!! If I can only solve my Sleep issue I will be done. Still, I now have a usable laptop so couldn't be more happier. I've been using alternative config.plist file pointing to alternate dsdt to keep testing. Every change I've tried to get sleep working makes laptop unbootable. Something very strange going on. Will keep at it, but hoping someone reading this post has figured it out and can help me out.
