Hello Guys,

I am newby installing and using macOS on PC, therefore I need your help.

I have a Dell E6530 with HD4000 only. It took three days to get High Sierra installed on this machine however, my installation is not perfect, lof of hardwares still not working. I know that there are magic words like Clover, config.plist, EFI, kexts, etc., I am just getting familiar with them, but not everything is clear.

Can you please help me to get a perfect installation for this Dell model?

What config.plist should I use, which kexts, patches, etc. needs to get almost everything working.

Maybe a full EFI backup from one of you.. or a perfect config somehow..

Thanks a lot!

L.

I have replaced files and folders from E6530_HD4000_Only bootpack in HDD/EFI/CLOVER/

- config.plist

- kexts folder

- ACPI folder

then I have upgraded kexts in HDD/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/other from E7440 HS EFI kexts.zip to meet High Sierra.

OS boots, however

- Internal keyboard and touchpad no longer working

- USB no longer working (Clover Configurator shows: change EHC1 and 2 > EH01 and 2 are still there, this was needed to get it work at boot)

- Video output goes to HDMI (meanwhile internal display show patches like a broken LCD >> wrong resolution)

What is still not clear for me:

- Where should kexts reside basicly? HDD/EFI/CLOVER/kexts, HDD/Library/Extensions or both?

Can you please help me how to go on?

Here, updated all the files. For your resolution, use Config-LoRes, rename to Config.plist

Add kexts in /EFI/Clover/kexts/Other/LE to /Library/Extensions

Repair permission and rebuild cache

      sudo chmod -Rf 755 /L*/E*

      sudo chown -Rf 0:0 /L*/E*
      sudo touch -f /L*/E*
      sudo chmod -Rf 755 /S*/L*/E*
      sudo chown -Rf 0:0 /S*/L*/E*
      sudo touch -f /S*/L*/E*
      sudo kextcache -Boot -U /

E6530_HD4000_Only_HS.zip

Hi Jake,

Thanks, yes, after many tries, I could successfully get it working.. :)

What works well:

- Intel HD4000 Graphics seems to be fine, relative fast

- Internal speakers / microphone

- Ethernet card

- Internal keyboard and touchpad

- Brightness keys (Fn+)

- Volume buttons

- SD card reader

- Camera

Still has issues:

- After cold booting, before logon screen, the machine goes to sleep.. I have to push power button to wake and continue

- No wifi and bluetooth (maybe need to change PCIe minicard)

Do you have any idea for initial sleeping and camera?

Update:

After logging in to iCloud and rebooted (had a crash), camera started to work.
