Mariusz
well, no good news Am I supposed to disconnect the USB keyboard at any time during the setup and/or reboot? No You can leave the keyboard. The only thing you can do is downgrade bios to A09 and you will be at the same stage I left the d630. I'm sorry but I don;t have this laptop anymore so I can't do more tests for you.
Administrators Syonagar Posted January 30, 2012 Administrators Share Posted January 30, 2012 Hi ovi1 & mariusz, I don't think its the bios problem, I was on A17 when I installed lion and yesterday updated to A18. So far no difference. Cheers!
Administrators Leon Posted January 30, 2012 Administrators Share Posted January 30, 2012 Hi, Just speculating here - since 200+ users have the same model, and it worked fine. You said that keyboard did not work during installation.. right.. thats common - a usb keyboard can fix that. Then, when you are done installing and you boot into OSX - did you install EDP (download it from the WIKI's EDP page, not to be confused with a bootpack) .. and did you do a build afterwards ? ovi1
I created the pen using myHack which allowed me to pick a /Extra (this is what you refer to as 'bootpack', right?). I picked the one i downloaded from Simeonoff (dazzler, dassler...), Once Os was installed, I copied this /Extra also to the target drive. I reboot - the keyboard is not recognized and I am asked to hit the Z and the / keys. This I can only do with the USB KB. Once first boot in the fresh OS was done, I ran /Extra/edptool... and selected 1,6,N,n,y where N stands for 1 through 4 ( I tried all KB kexts offered). KB still does not work. I then ran the kext wizard for both /Extra and S/L/E. I am assuming edptool adds stuff to /Extra rather then over-writes it... I am sure I did something wrong, out of order, but I don't know what... I did not see any D630 of users out there who had both Intel Graphics and Intel LAN/Wifi. I should mention I also tried to replace the the two kexts from this posts into S/L/E... Administrators Leon Posted January 30, 2012 Administrators Share Posted January 30, 2012 Thats where you go wrong.. you use the bootpack as a OS pack. Once you have installed.... 1. Download EDP from http://www.osxlatitude.com/edp/ 2. Install EDP 3. If edptool dosent run automaticly, then run edptool.command from /Extra on your harddisk) Follow the guide here for howto make a new build: http://www.osxlatitude.com/edp-do-a-new-build/
Administrators Bronxteck Posted January 30, 2012 Administrators Share Posted January 30, 2012 you do know that having the intel wifi causes issues during installs right? it needs to be removed. it is not going to work proper in osx even with iwi no aes incription support. ovi1
yes, i am well aware of that by now . it would have saved me a lot of time knowing that before I started. I have ordered a broadcom 4312 wifi card and hopefully this would resolve that issue. as for the keyboard issues i have been having - still no light at the end of that tunnel... Installing EDP creates a /Extra ?
