its the same i am using GUID and then MBR still the sam boot0:error

Your partition boot manager is faulty (No selected partition to boot). You have to boot with Windows ? Repair Disk(if you have it in a CD or USB drive) and use DOS prompt command to recover/enable the particular partition you want to boot first ( Linus, OS X or Windows). I suggest this link, read it and used it to fix your issues.

http://ss64.com/nt/diskpart.html

Restart your PC, insert Windows Repair Disk in CD/DVD drive. On DOS prompt, type "diskpart" and then return. These are steps that you have to do.

LIST Disk

SELECT Disk=n

LIST Partition

SELECT Partition=n

I suggest you select the Windows partition, reboot to Windows (after this, DON'T panic as you won't see your OS X partition on boot). Download EasyBCD application and take control of your triple-boot, here's the link, read it: http://neosmart.net/EasyBCD/

Create/Add OS boot for OS X and Linux.

I hope this helps. This is a much better method to use for a multi-boot PC. I used this.

glad this is here, maybe i can finally get a good fully functioning hackintosh. :)

also, i know this isn't related to what this forum is for, but i have a old emachines w3507 just collecting dust, i have gotten several successful installs with hazard 10.6.6i and it boots, but i get the waiting for root error.

so just wondering if you might be able to help with that, even if i have to use a older version of mac os x.

i have 10.6 SL and 10.7 L both retail versions, but i cannot find a solution to getting SL to work on this old computer.

iboot (chameleon, stolen and rebranded) boots the install dvd fine, but then it just sits there and empireefi doesn't work at all, so i hope you the OP can help in some way.

i know the motherboard is intel and wasn't changed very much from the retail version.

Processor: Intel Celeron D 352 / 3.2 GHz

Memory: 1024.0 MB

Hard Drive: 120.0 GB - 7200.0 rpm - IDE

Optical Drive DVD±RW (+R DL) - IDE

Graphics: ATI Radeon Xpress 200 Shared video memory (UMA) 256mb Integrated

hopefully i am doing this right, i copied the d630 bootpack to the install disk extras folder, the extras from this post over the 2 files that it replaced and ran myfix full.

also made a kickstart folder with everything in easy reach in the extras folder.

copied the combo update for 10.7.5 dmg to the kickstart folder, hopefully it works out.

only one way to find out, reboot and hope i didn't noob it up.

edit:

i am pleased to report the usb installer booted within seconds, internal keyboard and mouse working, that was an impressive test run, now to delete my fedora partitions and make this laptop a dual boot hackintosh!

you sir are a god send!

another one:

had boot0 error, booted from my usb and everything seems to be working except the things that haven't been patched yet, mouse and keyboard no external needed, but i am having trouble with edp, it cannot find the sh script in /bin.

guess the update to 10.7.5 will have to wait a moment.

full edp install chosen and reinstalled, still

sh: bin/edptool.sh: No such file or directory

logout

[Process completed]

never mind it showed up, wonder why it was so slow and had the error...

with the new edp the answers are 1 - 7 -1 - y.

i still have the boot0 error and i am not sure how to fix that yet, i installed ahci disabled so i could use my windows partition, so maybe i will find it in this thread, i have seen it before.

ok really annoyed, nothing seems to work and i am talking to myself here... i'll try a different thread maybe i can get help there.

well glad to say i already knew how to fix my issues, just had forgotten lol

popped in my windows 7 disc, used diskpart to make sure windows was active, repaired the boot automatically (excellent feature) since win xp failed to work lol

found a chain0 file online copied it to the root of c:\ edited the boot.ini and wala no need for chameleon as windows will boot mac for me, a simple search gave me the boot.ini line needed to do so.

again thanks for the thread OP, i now have a fully functioning hackbook with zero issues.

Edit:

If anyone ever needs help pm me.

Few days ago I’ve decided to stretch my hackintoshing bones a bit and try out Lion on Dell Latitude D630 that was once sent to me by Anders for testing (the day I suspended my activity at Osxlatitude I left the laptop with Mac OS X 10.6.7 perfectly working to lay down on the shelf).

So lately I’ve prepared my self an hackintosh friendly USB Lion installation media - stuffed with EDP kick start files and a copy of EDP 2.2. Crossed my fingers and booted from the pen-drive. Turned out that the installer booted with no problem, the only small disadvantage was that the keyboard and mouse was not recognized. The USB keyboard and mouse came in handy at that point. I’ve wiped all data using Disk Utilities and installed Lion. After installation, once again, I’ve booted from the USB media choosing freshly installed system this time. And here it was almost perfect Lion working on D630 X3100. Why almost perfect? There was no sound, wifi, ethernet and touchpad, but with the minimal kickstart kexts, this was a normal thing. I’ve installed EDP 2.2 from the pen-drive. Installed Chameleon and Configured it for D630 X3100. Restarted and booted, this time from the HDD and voila. Sound, Ethernet and Touchpad worked. To be honest I was disappointed that the wifi was not working from the start this meant that my Dell 1395 injection in dsdt was no good for Lion, what later turned out that Apple dropped the support for Broadcome 4315 chip, at least the way it was supported in Snow Leopard. Didn’t have time to play with it to long I’ve decided to replace the IO80211Familly.kext with the one from Snow Leopard and edited it to include more device id’s. After rebooting, the wifi was recognized and working perfectly. At that point I thought that the system was fully operational to later find out that the OpenGL was extremely sloooow. The Lion GUI was performing OK, but accelerated content was extremely choppy not to mention watching FullHD video content in 11fps was not an option for me. Again, I knew from Snow Leopard that GMA X3100 can do much better than that, so I’ve replaced Lion’s AppleIntelGMAX3100FB.kext with the one from SL and could report 24-29fps in 1080p Live-TV streams over wifi and 28fps in Xbench OpenGL test.

So Dell Latitude D630 with Intel GMA X3100 turned out to be an excellent Lion Hackintosh, good enough for every day use.

Short recap of steps taken:

- Prepare Lion USB Install pen-drive (don't waste your time doing it by hand like I did - use myHack method)

- download and copy all necessary files on Lion USB Install pen-drive (Kick start Extra folder, Chameleon, EDP 2.2, Kext's)

- Install and configure Lion

- Install Chameleon-2.1svn-r1791.pkg and EDP 2.2.pkg

- run edptool.command from /Extra and configure EDP for D630 X3100 (answers: 1 - 6 -1 - n - y)

- replace org.chameleon.Boot.plist and smbios.plist in /Extra/ with the one's from this post

- reboot and use your Ethernet to update system to 10.7.2 or if You have a combo update install it and reboot.

- replace IO80211Family.kext and AppleIntelGMAX3100FB.kext in /System/Library/Extensions/

- done!

Update: Users with X3100 @ 1440x900 use DSDT from this post.

The download section at osxlatitude only have latest version available and the version will need internet connection to proceed with the installation. However my laptop do not have network connection after boot into OSX.

May i know from where i can download the EDP v2.2 in order for me to set up the network connection for my Dell D630?

Forget EDP v2.2, you should really use the latest versions. If you do not have network connection for some reason, it'd be much better to identify your hardware and install the correct kext.

Your built-in Ethernet is normally supported with initial myHack installation (i.e. pre-EDP tuning). I guess, you're aware that Intel Wifi are not supported. Broadcom Wifi such as Dell DW1390/1490 are also natively supported. DW1395 requires specific kexts or modified IO80211 kext (both downloadable of the OSXL forum, just do a search).

Only the VGA port is supported, no DVI. Simply connect the monitor, it should be detected. If not, just go to the Monitor Pref Pane and click "Detect Monitors" button.

Do not select port mirroring, it's not working properly and you'd get both screens going all garbled.

<p>After uninstalling Mountain Lion and re- installing Lion as suggested by Herve, I am happy to report that everything works great.  I have now have a D630 Latitude GMAx3100 1440x900 with Lion. Here's how it went.</p>

<p> </p>

<p>1. Created a Lion 10.7.2 bootable USB drive using MyHack.</p>

<p> </p>

<p>2. Downloaded the EDP bootpack for my system, copied Mauriusz's kexts from SLE to the bootpack in the folder called "ExtraCombined" and applied it to the USB drive using:</p>

<p>a) MyHack > Create Extra > Use my own Extras > pointed to the "ExtraCombined" folder </p>

<p><img class="bbc_emoticon" src="https://osxlatitude.com/public/style_emoticons/default/cool.png" title="B)" /> MyHack > Run Fix > Full Fix on the USB drive</p>

<p> </p>

<p>3. Disabled intel Wifi in the BIOS A18 of my D630 Latitude. You need to go through all the wireless settings and completely disable the little switch on the left of the laptop as well. I have set it to BT mode until I can find a broadcom wireless card.</p>

<p> </p>

<p>4. Booted from the USB. Latitude's trackpad and keyboard worked just fine.</p>

<p> </p>

<p>5. Installed and configured Lion and reboot</p>

<p> </p>

<p>6. Installed "ExtraCombined" again to the Latitude using MyHack and reboot</p>

<p> </p>

<p>7. Installed VoodooHDA-2.7.2.pkg to get the audio and KeyRemap4MacBook-7.8.0.dmg to fix the tilde key (not required if you are using an external keyboard)</p>

<p> </p>

<p>8. Copied the Mail folder from my previous Mountain Lion's time machine backup to ~/Library/Preferences. I have over 90,000 messages that were automatically imported in less than 15 minutes. I just had to re-enter the account passwords when prompted.</p>

<p> </p>

<p>9. Put the laptop in the dock under the desk, connected an external monitor through VGA and it was automatically recognized. I am enjoying the 1920x1080 with beautiful graphics. It is very important that you do not select Mirror if you are using multiple displays. Learnt this the hard way (again wish I had read Herve's above post). I had to use MirrorTool (free) to undo the settings and recover the display. It really goes bonkers and there's not much that you can do. DO NOT SELECT THE MIRROR OPTION EVER!!! Ok, you have been warned.</p>

<p> </p>

<p>Now that Latitude is under my desk, over an Antec chill pad, neither noise nor overheating is a problem and I have a clean desk with a seriously large display. Dual display might be an overkill and I do not think D630 x3100 is a powerful enough to drive it. 1920x1080 makes it slightly sluggish and I can feel that while browsing but I am still happy. Latitude is a hundred times better now than when it was running Windows. Windows 7 had slowed it to such an extent that it was unusable and it sat like a paperweight until I put OSX on it.</p>

<p> </p>

<p>Thanks to this wonderful community and also to Apple.</p>

<p> </p>

<p> </p>

<p>UPDATE 1:</p>

<p>My OSX 10.7.2 on D630 freezes many times a day. It's not a kernel panic which happens about twice a week due to AppleIntelGMAX3100FB.kext but the two problems might be related. During the freeze I cannot do anything with the mouse or keyboard. I have to hold the power button down and recycle. There's nothing to in the logs that looks suspicious. I am not using Google Chrome which is known to cause this problem. I have also disabled Google updates and have run the full fix using MyHack. What else can I do? Downgrade to Snow Leopard?</p>

<p> </p>

<p>UPDATE 2:</p>

<p>I remember setting my A18 bios to ACHI but looks like it switched to ATA when I booted into windows. I switched it back to ACHI, repaired the permissions using Disk Utility and ran a full MyHack fix. That was about six hours back and I haven't had a freeze, yet. If I do, then I will probably uninstall the IOATAFamily.kext first. </p>

<p> </p>

<p>I am also trying to clone the boot disk using carbon copy but haven't been successful so far. Once I have a bootable clone, I will install 10.7.5 combo update released by Apple.</p>

<p> </p>

<p>UPDATE 3:</p>

<p>I am happy to report that there was no freeze since yesterday, after I switched to ACHI. I was not able to create a bootable clone using carbon copy. Nonetheless I went ahead and installed the 10.7.5 combo update and had a kernel panic when I tried to boot up. It was due to VoodooHDA.kext. I was able to login after removing VoodooHD for audio. I then went ahead, downloaded the latest EDP and let it configure. I lost the ethernet connectivity after EDP was done but I was able to restore it by copying IO80211Family.kext to the /Extra/Extensions and running MyHack thereafter. Looks good so far. EDP is wonderful. It restored my built-in audio which sounds excellent, installed a battery indicator and some kind of CPU speed controller. Good work guys!</p>
