satchitananda
By either hitting a key on the keyboard , clicking the buttons next to the touch pad and pressing the power key. Normally when the laptop is asleep the power led glows off and on , this isn't happening? Thanks for your quick reply
Moderators Jake Lo Posted February 20, 2018 Moderators Share Posted February 20, 2018 If the power LED doesn't blink, then it's not sleeping. So if you click on Sleep from the Apple Menu, does the screen just go blank? Can you run this command and post the output? log show --style syslog | fgrep "Wake reason"
satchitananda
I ran the command however I am not sure where too look for the output? Also if I select sleep from the apple menu it will goto sleep properly and wake properly, it appears the problem arises when I select say 5 minutes to goto sleep in Energy Saver system preferences. Moderators Jake Lo Posted February 22, 2018 Moderators Share Posted February 22, 2018 when you run the command on the terminal, it should spit out the result in the same window Not sure what you mean. When you set it to go to sleep say 5 minutes, what happens? Make sure you don't touch the keyboard or touchpad during the entire 5 mins. Sleep will be interrupted if movement occurred. Administrators Hervé Posted February 22, 2018 Administrators Share Posted February 22, 2018 I would not expect this to be an issue but did you keep the unified display & computer sleep or revert to the separate settings as described here?
satchitananda
I don't have the unified settings , I have the seperate settings as described and did not make any modifications to create the seperate settings
