HaggisMaster
so, I thought things were running smoothly. Which for the most part they are. But still having issues with sleep/wake. could be me, could be config. if I just leave the box to fall asleep naturally, most of the time I warning that it has restarted, and hasn't actually slept. Basically it reboots then sleeps at the login screen. From a startup items perspective I've only got "dropbox" in my user profile, and zero items on a system level. thoughts or places to start investigating? brousseau6933
@HaggisMaster Verify your system logs, you probably have a kernel panic happening. It could be one of the kexts, mainly FakeSMC. All the kext the latest ones? Personally, I use the Rehabman FakeSMC. Powernap disabled?

crazyxzer0
So guys, I'm stumped. I have a little USB 3.0 2TB Western Digital Passport portable HDD that I connect to all my macs. The 9020SFF can't see it. When I put in a USB3.0 flash drive into one of the 3.0 USB slots, it shows 480mbit/sec in system profiler. Do you guys have any suggestions? I used Jake Lo's boot pack and kexts with the latest LiLu, WhateverGreen,AppleALC.
Administrators Hervé Posted February 5, 2019 Administrators Share Posted February 5, 2019 Probably not enough power to the USB ports; very common. Might work if you have a dual-port cable. Compare the "Current" values displayed on your Macs and on your 9020SFF.
crazyxzer0
Hmm.. Isn't USB 3.0 standard 900mA? I plugged in my little USB 3.0 flashdrive into my Macbook and it shows 5Gbit as the negotiated speed. Doing a BlackMagic Disk Speed test, I can only achieve USB2.0 speeds with the flash drive: * Read: 42 MB/sec * Write: 24MB/sec On my MacBook: * Read: 135 MB/sec * Write: 72.4 MB/sec
Moderators Jake Lo Posted February 5, 2019 Moderators Share Posted February 5, 2019 If your 9020 is a Tower and not SFF, see here, just replace the USBPort injector in /EFI/Clover/kexts/Other https://osxlatitude.com/forums/topic/10979-installingupgrading-to-mojave-optiplex-9020-hd4600/?do=findComment&comment=87418
crazyxzer0
It's definitely a SFF.
Administrators Hervé Posted February 6, 2019 Administrators Share Posted February 6, 2019 Well, your USB ports are clearly not setup properly. Try the usual fine-tuning: USBInjectAll kext or generation of your own USB injector, USB3/USB2 multiplexing, DSDT USB device power settings, etc.
morpheousman
@ HaggisMaster: My 9020 was having sleep issues similar to yours. I went in energy saver settings, and there was a setting I had not seen before, "Power Nap". I removed the checkmark from that, and Sleep/Wake has been working like normal.
