zogthegreat
Hi everyone! So I just reinstalled Catalina on my E7270, (I had to use the SSD drive for a different system), and I'm having a strange problem with my WiFi. I'm using a genuine Apple Airport card, BCM943224PCIEBT2. When I boot from a USB, using Jake Lo's clover for Catalina, the WiFi starts with no problem. However, when I boot from the hard drive, the WiFi is greyed out our keeps trying to connect, but never does. I've tried fiddling with my kext's in Clover, removing the following: AirportBrcmFixup.kext BrcmPatchRAM2.kext BrcmBluetoothInjector.kext BrcmFirmwareData.kext FakePCIID_Broadcom_WiFi.kext As I believe that they are unnecessary for a genuine Apple device, but then my WiFi disappears completely. I'm attaching my Clover from my SDD and boot drive, along with a screen shot from system information. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong? Thanks! zog E7270 hard drive EFI.zip JakeLo Boot EFI.zip
Administrators Hervé Posted May 21, 2020 Administrators Share Posted May 21, 2020 Broadcom BCM43224 14e4:4353 is subject to whitelisting: And, very obviously, those DW1820A-related injected properties do not apply to your Apple card so remove them. It's always essential to pay attention to full computer's hardware specs, especially when re-using someone else's config files...
zogthegreat
Thanks for the information and link Hervé. I assumed that I had a bad configuration somewhere, I just couldn't find it.
Moderators Jake Lo Posted May 21, 2020 Moderators Share Posted May 21, 2020 The DW1820a patches are commented out so they are not applied here. You most likely just need to patch for the whitelisting as Hervé pointed it out.
Administrators Bronxteck Posted May 23, 2020 Administrators Share Posted May 23, 2020 does the usb and ssd share the same machine smbios? I ask because you state the usb config works but your existing does not.
