Administrators Syonagar Posted May 2, 2012 Administrators Share Posted May 2, 2012 Dear Allissa, Ok. I think I got the hang of myhack 3 and myfix 3. For your information, myhack 3 and EDP 2.2 is not compatible at the moment in term of Extra kexts configuration. Our apologies, we are also still testing myhack 3 with our methods, bootpacks and EDP. Some points to ponder. In preparing the usb installer, myhack 3 will install generic Extra and myhack.kext in the /S/L/E folder. EDP will install 0EDP.kext in the Extra and /S/L/E folder. Some kexts in the bootpack Extra (e.g. FakeSMC.kext) and 0EDP.kext are duplicating those in myhack.kext in the /S/L/E. Hence, the problem. So, after you prepare the usb installer and copy bootpack into Extra, you need to delete myhack.kext from /S/L/E and try to boot with mach_kernel -v -f. Try it and let me know. After that, we can tackle the post install issues. Cheers!
elim
I used myhack 2.2, EDP 2.2 and Lion 10.7.3 dmg installed Lion on D430 U7700. Using iMac to create the usb pen: Erase the pen, then start myhack, specify the destination and the source (lion dmg), when finish, it'll ask if using default extra or custom one, tell it where your extracted extra from EDP2.2 is. Now you have the usb installer. plug it into D430, also plug external keyboard and mouse and use -v option to boot the usb. After done installation, boot with usb installer again into the boot menu and choose the partition where lion just installed. In your new lion on D430, Run /Extra/edptool.command to rebuild kexts and install boot loader that'll fix things including keyboard and mouse. I got Lion running on D430 ok except wifi (no clue how to make my DW1395 work here and don't know which wifi card will guaranty to work with D430 Lion) Let me know how this works

Alissa
The display seems quite dim when running OS X. Any ideas on how to correct this? It's as high as it can go in the BIOS, in Apple's settings and by pressing Fn + Up.

Alissa
Thanks, that fixed everything nicely. Now just awaiting the arrival of my WLAN card Question: Is there a WWAN card that works under OS X on the D430? Getting mobile internet would be pretty cool - although I can do a USB / Wi-Fi tether for now
