jerseydan31
Hello Bronxteck...same thing! Stuck at [ PCI Configuration begin] Any special boot options? I'm basically just booting in 'verbose' mode.
Administrators Bronxteck Posted December 2, 2012 Administrators Share Posted December 2, 2012 try using the dsdt for d630 nvidia from its boot pack. they are similar specs.
Administrators Hervé Posted December 8, 2012 Administrators Share Posted December 8, 2012 Guys, I'd avise you download the D830 bootpack again and retry; one kext might have been missing these last few weeks, but it sure is Ok now.
jerseydan31
THX Herve! I'll try it in the AM tomorrow to see how it goes. So far nothing with all the suggestions above. BTW I was given a modified DSDT zip file....how would I add/prep the files contained in the ZIP file onto the USB key?
Administrators Hervé Posted December 12, 2012 Administrators Share Posted December 12, 2012 If your ZIP archive just contains a modified DSDT file, it's a simple case of copying the extracted file to /Extra. If there's more to it, I would suggest that you extract everything out to a dedicated directory and browse through. You need to know what's in there... jerseydan31
Hello Herve, THAT WORKED! It looks like newest bootpack from this site gets past the [ PCI Configuration Begin] screen and into the ML installer GUI! I'm now in the process of installing ML!!!! Excellent work! I'll post my end result once I'm done. THX again and take care. JD31
jerseydan31
That did it! I was able to finally install Mountain Lion. It was whatever missing KEXT in the D830 NVIDIA bootpack. The GUI installer did complain (at the end of the hard drive installation) that it was unable to reboot I just rebooted using the USB install key and ran the latest EDP (easy as pie!) Thank you (everyone) for your support!!
jerseydan31
BTW...do you guys (or Herve) know what KEXT was missing from this bootback?
