e30cabrio
I am reinstalling because I couldn't get the trackpad back. Trying Mavericks. I use the renamed file during install correct? The 1390 is longer than the Centrino. I have another card from a broken already apart HP netbook and I have a Latitude 2100 I can take apart if the one from the HP fails. e30cabrio
It is up & running with WIFI. the 2100 had a 1505 which just worked. It was a hassle getting the centrino to install in the 2100 but it is also working. What do I use for control on the Dell & how to I get into restore so I can transfer my data from my backup? Thanks for all the help, the machine is running great already!
e30cabrio
Seems like everything major is ok but the DVD/CD drive is not seen at all. I did the DVD playback fix (which I doubted would solve it) but still no optical drive is seen.

Moderators Jake Lo Posted November 6, 2013 Moderators Share Posted November 6, 2013 Can anyone help get the drive back please? Have you tried reseating the drive? Go to the BIOS and see if it shows up there, under Modular Bay Device. Check your BIOS settings to see it you have disable anything under Miscellaneous Devices. Better yet, set the BIOS to default. Apply and then go back and change SATA Operation to AHCI and disable Optimus. Apply, reboot and see if it appears.
e30cabrio
Yes I reseated it. I'll follow your steps & report. Thanks

Moderators Jake Lo Posted November 7, 2013 Moderators Share Posted November 7, 2013 Thanks! It sees it but wont play a DVD (do I need to re do your fix) so was it a BIOS setting that fixed it? What error are you getting when you try to play a DVD? If it's the error I posted, yes, try that fix.
