snoopers
I would prefer Mavericks. If you allow me to get some insight in what are the important points in AppleHDA, SSDT and what the nullCPUPowermanagement does, I would try to do it on my own for Yosemite. For the moment I don't like Yosemite and I just would test it on my E6630 before upgrading the iMac. But for know I think I will stuck on Mavericks on both devices. (depending on if I get iCloud running on the E6330) Thanks again for your help.
Moderators Jake Lo Posted November 20, 2014 Moderators Share Posted November 20, 2014 Well, without AppleHDA, you have no sound, but you could use voodoohda. SSDT and nullcpupowermanagement are for power management as the name implies. nullcpupowermanagement disables power management so your battery will drain quickly. I'll update the files for Mavericks but you still didn't mention what CPU you have.
snoopers
Sorry, total missed that point. It's the 2.59 MHz i5. I'm aware that AppleHDA is needed for native sound. I checked the file but I did not find a point where I could define the hardware ID. For example the Bluetooth driver has many defined devices and I just added my hardware to the file and it works. Moderators Jake Lo Posted November 20, 2014 Moderators Share Posted November 20, 2014 No, you can't just add your device id to AppleHDA and work, it's way more complicated than that. See guide https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/1946-complete-applehda-patching-guide/ For CPU, I mean the exact model i5-3340M or i5-3320m. Moderators Jake Lo Posted November 20, 2014 Moderators Share Posted November 20, 2014 snoopers, Here's a tuned up bootpack for your E6330 with i5-3320m, 1366x768 resolution, Mavericks 10.9.5 No need to run EDP. Launch myHack, select install Extra and point to this folder Tuned to MBA 5.2 HDMI video/audio SD card reader SSD Trim Enable Extra-E6330.zip
snoopers
Thank you very much for the Extra-Set! However, still no sound Did a fresh install then, the Extra set already included on the 10.9.4 install stick, updated to 10.9.5 via Combo-Update, installed Extra afterwards again. Same result. No sound, no iCloud. Side note: SD card reader not working too. Sleep not tested yet. Looks like my system does not want to run Mavericks. Is a specific version of Chameleon needed to get it working? Moderators Jake Lo Posted November 21, 2014 Moderators Share Posted November 21, 2014 Try installing new version of Chameleon Can you run lspci -nn and list the output here. Your sd card reader might have a different device-id than mine.
snoopers
This Chameleon version doesn't change things, unfortunately. Moderators Jake Lo Posted November 22, 2014 Moderators Share Posted November 22, 2014 Ok, found your issue. Remove PciRoot=1 in o.c.b.p to enable audio. Replace AppleSDXC with this one in /Extra/Extensions and run myHack/myFix (Quick). Reboot AppleSDXC.kext.zip
