case
Hello, I was wondering if anybody had a fix to get the wifi working on the Lenovo x230t? Thanks!
Administrators Hervé Posted May 9, 2013 Administrators Share Posted May 9, 2013 Not until we know which card it is! A universal fix is to install a known compatible card... https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/2120-wireless-cards-inventory/
Administrators Bronxteck Posted May 9, 2013 Administrators Share Posted May 9, 2013 if you see a sticker on the laptop that says centrino it most likely is an intel wifi unless it's been replaced. and as such is not supported in osx properly. case
OK so i know it it unsupported now so what is the best wireless card to replace it with?
Administrators Hervé Posted May 10, 2013 Administrators Share Posted May 10, 2013 No straight answer: 1st, you need a card that's the same format as yours so that the swap is easily done. Then it depends if you want a "G" card or a "N" version and for those, if you want a 150Mbps version or a 300Mbps capable one. Then, some cards will work OOB, others will need an additional kext. Moderators Jake Lo Posted May 10, 2013 Moderators Share Posted May 10, 2013 You also need to consider the wireless card whitelist that Lenovo has on their BIOS. You can't just install any wireless card that fits.

Administrators Hervé Posted May 10, 2013 Administrators Share Posted May 10, 2013 There used to be good lists on insanelymac's wiki, arranged by OS X version & release. Have a look there. It usually specifies everything.
