Administrators Hervé Posted October 25, 2013 Administrators Share Posted October 25, 2013 Danelly, check if it's available at the root of your USB installer to copy if from there. If not, I'll try to upload it here for you once I get home. I would not reboot meantime...
welp
Herve- I have the mach_kernel and dragged it to my desktop. I was able to get it off the installer as you noted. I cant drag it to the root of the drive cause it says " The item"mach_kernel" cant be replcaced because it's invisble. Have you see that before. welp
I figured it out. I had to unhide all the files. In terminal: defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE killall Finder Found that the mach_kernel file was in there. Here is a copy of my Chameleon boot plist (in /Extra). Does this look correct? <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"><plist version="1.0"><dict> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GenerateCStates</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GeneratePStates</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string></string> <key>PciRoot</key> <string>1</string> <key>SystemType</key> <string>2</string> <key>Theme</key> <string>Default</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>2</string> <key>arch</key> <string>i386</string> <key>UseKernelCache</key> <string>Yes</string></dict></plist>
Administrators Hervé Posted October 25, 2013 Administrators Share Posted October 25, 2013 You can't boot Mavericks with arch=i386 !!! That means 32bit kernel mode. Remove it or boot with option arch=x86_64 and you should be good to go. You can then edit your Chameleon boot plist.
welp
I am sure its somewhere in the forum, but how do I unlock the file to edit? Also, do I just remove that line and save?
Administrators Bronxteck Posted October 25, 2013 Administrators Share Posted October 25, 2013 use chameleon wizard app.
Administrators Hervé Posted October 25, 2013 Administrators Share Posted October 25, 2013 So, did you manage to boot into Mavericks? For your wireless, open up a Terminal window and type the lspci -nn command to display all your hardware specs and paste the result here.
welp
Yes I was able to boot.. Thanks for the help on that one. Herve- I tried following your guide on getting the wifi to work, I see the wifi icon on my task bar, but if i click it, the mouse shows busy. I have done the terminal server stuff as well. Any ideas. Administrators Hervé Posted October 28, 2013 Administrators Share Posted October 28, 2013 Broadcom BCM4311 [14e4:4311] corresponds to a DW1390 and that is supported OOB with SL, L, ML or Mavericks. What guide of mine are you referring to here? You should be able to connect to your wireless network without any particular action other than select the desired network (and maybe specify a security key if required).
