yamete888
Just wondering, since the cookbook for the e7440 Yosemite below: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/7478-dell-latitude-yosemite-install-guide/?p=45213 iincludes instructions for the e7440 i7-based haswell, is there one for the e7440 i5-haswell 1920x1080? thanks! Moderators Jake Lo Posted December 10, 2014 Moderators Share Posted December 10, 2014 Guide and bootpack will work too, but you need to replace the SSDT for your CPU.
yamete888
Thanks! is generating the SSDT via ssdtPRGen.sh on an i5-e6430 for the i5-e7440 the correct path of action? e.g. ssdtPRGen.sh -d 0 -p i5-4310U Did that, replaced the SSDT from the e7440 bootpack with the ssdtPRGen.sh generated one, booted with flags -v -f but got black screen at the end, so never got to the installer...should other flags be used? Moderators Jake Lo Posted December 10, 2014 Moderators Share Posted December 10, 2014 Did you set the BIOS as in the guide? Use the Haswell kernel? GUID or MBR format?
sea_man
Hi , first of all , Thanks Jake Lo . My E7440 is running Mavericks right now !! I only have a little problem..when i plug any headphones don't work.. it is detected in system preferences audio , and silence the internal speakers...but don't sound. Edit: also i made mi own SSDT ( i have a i5 4200u) , but i see it only up to 2.4 ghz .. is this normal ?
Administrators Hervé Posted December 17, 2014 Administrators Share Posted December 17, 2014 Turbo boost speeds depend on CPU load + number of cores used. 2.6GHz is the maximum turbo boost when only 1 core is active, the maximum turbo speed is slightly lower when multiple cores/threads are active. So yes, what you're seeing is normal. http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-Core-i5-4200U-Notebook-Processor.93563.0.html
