Moderators Jake Lo Posted January 15, 2015 Moderators Share Posted January 15, 2015 That should work without any issue if you follow the guide closely. Which one did you follow? Optimus enabled or disabled?
Tengokuu
Optimus disabled. Edit: Weirdly enough, going into System Report, I can see Intel High Definition Audio under the Audio tab. Before rebooting after installing the kext, I can see things like HDMI out and Line out, but I still cant get anything out of the speakers. After reboots, the dropdown under Intel HD Audio just disappears.
Tengokuu
Found something. Opened System Report again, and it appears the kext isn't loading at all. Tengokuu
... What? I've used both of those commands an unhealthy amount of times and only now it decided to work properly. FML!! Regardless, audio is working, and now the system is perfect! Thank you for all of your help, Jake Lo, and sorry for having you go through my struggles. Moderators Jake Lo Posted January 18, 2015 Moderators Share Posted January 18, 2015 Yes, but might need a different DSDT. Get it from here. Generate your own SSDT from the guide.
Administrators Hervé Posted January 18, 2015 Administrators Share Posted January 18, 2015 [...] Apple has remove the chirping sound when you click on the volume control. Try playing a video or audio file. [...] With Yosemite, the "chirping" sound is now a configurable option in the audio PrefPane.
Moderators Jake Lo Posted January 19, 2015 Moderators Share Posted January 19, 2015 Thanks Herve. Didn't notice that. New thud sound is not as nice as chirping from Mavericks.
