Hi guys!

Im recently new to hackintoshing, one of my friends turned me to this website when i bought a used dell latitude and wanted to turn it into a hackintosh! Just a couple questions about how to do it, since i dont have much access to a mac, is it possible to create a boot installer with USB a different way? and If so could anyone recommend one to use. I read the fourm about how to install it, ive tried using Yosemite-Zones .dmg with no luck i cant get it to boot, and when i get it to the Apple loading screen with the progress bar it loads about halfway and then gets stuck. So i thought about making a new installer following the instructions on this webpage, it looked simple enough!

Thanks guys, any comments are welcome!

Without graphics acceleration, a Hackintosh is not really usable: overall performance is severely degraded, you'll experience lots of graphics artefact, many web sites won't be useable and the same will go for several graphics apps such as DVDPlayer or VLC. Don't bother with Yosemite on the E6400 with Intel GPU.

OHHHHHHH, that makes sense then, what about like mavericks or something like that? still unusable because of the graphics acceleration? and would my main machine be able to run yosemite? its a Intel Xeon E3-1245V3 with 16GB DDR3 and a GTX 970 with a SSD and 2 Magnetic HDD's?

Intel GMA 4500MHD is not supported by any OS X versions, so laptops based on that Intel GPU will never get graphics acceleration.

Your desktop should be Ok on the other hand. Please open a separate thread in the desktop section for that system if required.
