Administrators Hervé Posted November 2, 2017 Administrators Share Posted November 2, 2017 Finger tapping is something you configure in the Trackpad preference panel...
errandwolfe
I am using the version from this link the trackpad itself is working great, but my numeric keypad has stopped working. I am using a Dell E6520. Can anyone possibly help out?
Moderators Jake Lo Posted November 24, 2017 Moderators Share Posted November 24, 2017 Did you enable the numLock?
errandwolfe
In my BIOS yes. Does it need to be enabled somewhere in a config file? Using the NumLock key itself makes no change. The keys around the numeric pad (/ * - + and Enter) all work, but the numbers themselves do not.
Administrators Hervé Posted November 24, 2017 Administrators Share Posted November 24, 2017 You could try 2 x things: in your Keyboard PrefPane, set your keyboard to " PC" type install Logitech layout for your language (if it exists) in /Library/Keyboard Layouts, then choose it in your Keyboard PrefPane. Logitech layouts are available in Ukulele app (v1.8.4 or v2.2.8) as explained here. I guess you may also try other available layouts in the apps, even in v3.2.7. http://scripts.sil.org/cms/scripts/page.php?site_id=nrsi&id=ukelele
errandwolfe
Well I tried both of those methods and no change, they numeric pad does not work. One thing I have noticed though is the numeric keypad IS working before I login. Once I login it stops working.
Moderators Jake Lo Posted November 25, 2017 Moderators Share Posted November 25, 2017 @errandwolfe It's working fine on my E6520 running Sierra, keyboard layout set to ANSI. Which OS X are you running?
errandwolfe
Well, in case this happens to anyone else, let me share what it was...Apparently there is a feature in Accessibility under "Mouse & Trackpad" called "Mouse Keys" This effectively turns your numeric keypad into a virtual trackpad. I don't know how, but somehow I accidentally enabled this and that was my whole problem.
dsarch
Hello Jake Lo! Seems I have the same TrackPad that you have, did you managed to make it work properly on your laptop? I have a e7270 and I have the same problems you related.
Moderators Jake Lo Posted December 5, 2017 Moderators Share Posted December 5, 2017 @dsarch, I just use ApplePS2Controller from my E7x70 guide. This kext by Dr. Hurt doesn't support Alps v8 very well.
