  1. Well thank you for helping. If you find anything that can be useful then I will be greatful if you let me know. Also, will it help with different WiFi cards?
  2. I mean about the WiFi problem. Now that I have told you the specs do you have any suggestions? If you need more then you can ask.
  3. I have a Dell Latitude D630 1440x900 with Intel x3100 graphics with Dell Wireless 1490 Airport card (Broadcom 4311). I have already made a backup installer of Lion using myHack with the working ML installation. Is there any suggestions now that you know more about my specs?
  4. Actually, I haven't used MLPF as the hack is quite aggressive (you mentioned it in the guide) so I have left my laptop without graphics acceleration and with normal ML graphics. The message ("A connection timeout occurred) after I updated to 10.8.4 the standard way. Is there another suggestion now that you know this?
  5. I have reinstalled with Mountain Lion using the steps Herve provided before. Everything was fine until I upgraded to 10.8.4 when I tried to connect to my network, it says "A connection timeout occured" (wifi). Does anyone know how to fix this?
  6. Thanks. Do you know how much time it will take to load the graphics (approximately)?
  7. Also, once I rebooted, the boot screen takes very long to boot up. When I booted in verbose mode, this is what I got: ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::registerLPCDriver - failed to locate SMC driver ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::registerLPCDriver - WARNING - LPC device initialization failed: C-state power management not initialized If it will take some work to fix, then I might reinstall it as I am thinking of putting Mountain Lion with this guide: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/2464-installing-ml-on-d630-gma-x3100-with-full-qeci/ Can I upgrade to future Mac (10.9 etc) after using MLPostFactor?
  8. I used an external hard drive other than the USB and it worked perfectly! But the problem is that the WiFi isn't working. Also, how many steps does the EDP 'Build from model database' have?
  9. I opened the myHack application and chose Create OS X Installer and then Create 10.7 Installer. Pointed it to the volume (USB) and the 'Install Mac OS X Lion.app' and clicked OK when asked to erase data. After that, I reopened myHack and clicked 'Install Extra' and chose the extra folder I downloaded from the bootpacks.page.
  10. I have also tried installing it on an external hard drive but it returned with the same results.
  11. Hello again Herve. I searched the forum as you advised and replaced the wireless card with Dell Wireless 1490 Airport Extreme (compatitble) and set the BIOS settings to the tested settings. I was able to boot up the installer and format the hard drive as a GUID. However, when it is in the installation process, it says Install Failed: Mac OS X could not be installed on your computer. I have tried restarting and installing again but the error comes back. I have also tried installing Mountain Lion with a method you provided once but there is also an error. I haven't got the log from the Mountain Lion but I think it would be the same error. This is what I got from the installer log after PackageKit: ----- Begin install ----- at 06:34:53: Line 18 May 30 06:36:23 macbook-001c23120b2b OSInstaller[331]: PackageKit: Got copier error 2 extracting to path ./System/Library/Address Book Plug-Ins/CardDAVPlugin.sourcebundle/Contents/MacOS/CardDAVPlugin: Read-only file system Line 19 May 30 06:36:23 macbook-001c23120b2b Unknown[315]: /SourceCache/AppleFSCompression/AppleFSCompression-37/Common/DataPool.c:135: Error: finished pool without filling it Line 20 May 30 06:36:23 macbook-001c23120b2b Unknown[315]: /SourceCache/AppleFSCompression/AppleFSCompression-37/Common/commonUtils.c:360: Error: fh_pread -1 Line 21 May 30 06:36:23 macbook-001c23120b2b Unknown[315]: /SourceCache/AppleFSCompression/AppleFSCompression-37/Common/StreamCompressor.c:294: Error: pread failed for /Volumes/Macintosh HD/.OSInstallSandbox-tmp/Root//System/Library/Address Book Plug-Ins/CardDAVPlugin.sourcebundle/Contents/MacOS/CardDAVPlugin: Invalid argument Line 22 May 30 06:36:24 macbook-001c23120b2b Unknown[315]: /SourceCache/AppleFSCompression/AppleFSCompression-37/Common/StreamCompressor.c:928: Error: returning errno 22 from FinishStreamCompressorQueue Line 23 May 30 06:36:40 macbook-001c23120b2b OSInstaller[331]: PackageKit: Install failed: Error Domain=PKInstallErrorDomain Code=110 "An error occurred while extracting files from the package "Essentials.pkg"."UserInfo=0x7fda1ac9a640 {NSLocalizedDescription=An error occurred while extracting the files from the package "Essentials.pkg"., NSFilePath=/Volumes/Macintosh HD/.OSInstallSandbox-tmp/Root, NSURL=Essentials.pkg -- file://localhost/System/Installation/Packages/OSInstall.mpkg, PKInstallPackageIdentifier=com.apple.pkg.Essentials, NSUnderlyingError=0x7fda1ac94070 "The operation couldn't be completed. 12. I have set the BIOS to the recommended parameters but what kind of a wireless card should I replace the card with? I will see if it makes a difference and report back to you.
  13. Thanks for reply so quickly. I have used the correct Bootpack (Dell Latitude D630, Intel x3100 graphics (1440x900)) and followed your guide of installing myHack on the USB. Also, if it helps, I used Virtualbox (Mac OS X Guest) to install myHack to my USB. 14. I managed to boot up the installer from myHack's generic extra with the commands -f and -v. But the installation hangs at random places of the installation (including the actual installation). I also tried usbbusfix=no but it made no difference. Please help me.
  15. I will try and report back to you. Thank you for replying.
  16. I am using a legit Lion installer app from the app store.
  17. I have got Lion installer version 10.7 and getting the kernel panic right after the chameleon bootloader loads the files. Also, I wasn't able to find com.apple.driver.AirPortBrcm43224 anywhere.
  18. Thank you for replying. I'm afraid it didn't work. Also, there were differences to the writing that I recognise: Backtrace (CPU 0), Frame : Return Address (4 potential args on stack) ApplePS2Controller: Timed out on mouse input stream at readDataPort. ApplePS2Controller: Timed out on mouse input stream at readDataPort.
  19. Hello there. I followed the guide to installing Mac OS X Lion on Dell Latitude D630 and right after loading everything from the Chameleon bootloader, I see a black screen with white writing on it showing a kernal panic: BCM5722D (setupDriver:920): MSI index on 1 panic(cpu 1 caller 0x2ccb0f): Kernal trap at 0x3624703a, type 14=page fault, registers: CR0: 0x8001003b, CR2: 0x00000000, CR3: 0x00100000, CR4: 0x00000660 EAX: 0x00000000, EBX: 0x0000085a, ECX: 0x00000000, EDX: 0x299cdffc CR2: 0x00000000, EBP: 0x2ff6bc58, ESI: 0x05eba800, EDI: 0x00000000 EFL: 0x00010246, EIP: 0x3624703a, CS: 0x00000008, DS: 0x00000010 Error code: 0x00000000 Debugger called: <panic> Backtrace (CPU 1), Frame : Return Address (4 potential args on stack) 0x2ff6ba98 : 0x22032e (0x6abf4c 0x2ff6bab8 0x229ef0 0x0) 0x2ff6bac8 : 0x2ccb0f (0x6b8488 0x3624703a 0xe 0x6b8431) 0x2ff6bb78 : 0x2e2e34 (0x2ff6bba0 0x2ff6bb88 0x2ff6bb98 0x5eba800) 0x2ff6bb98 : 0x3624703a (0xe 0xc0048 0x10 0x18000010) 0x2ff6bc58 : 0x3624861c (0x5eba800 0x0 0x4222 0x18000000) 0x2ff6bce8 : 0x36244e26 (0x5ee7a80 0x299cd000 0x1 0x0) 0x2ff6bd18 : 0x362eb798 (0x4222 0x5ee7a80 0x299cd000 0x1) 0x2ff6bda8 : 0x36296d22 (0x25232000 0x8086 0x4222 0x0) 0x2ff6be08 : 0x3623d828 (0x5dc2c00 0x8086 0x4222 0x0) 0x2ff6bea8 : 0x3623fd98 (0x5dc2c00 0x5dc2c00 0x0 0x5dc2c00) 0x2ff6bec8 : 0x647f1d (0x5dc2c00 0x5bb3e80 0x2ff6bef8 0x6064aa) 0x2ff6bf18 : 0x647c86 (0x5bb3e80 0x5dc2c00 0x5dc0480 0x2fb4d3b0) 0x2ff6bf68 : 0x648a7d (0x5bb3e80 0x5d52f80 0x0 0xffffffff 0x2ff6bf98 : 0x64a8a4 (0x5bb3e80 0x0 0x2ff6bfb8 0x1) 0x2ff6bfc8 : 0x2c5d0c (0x5d4fb90 0x0 0x2c5d1b 0x5ba5000) Kernel Extensions in backtrace: com.apple.driver.AirPortBrcm43224(500.36.11)[081ADA69-2E4E-4EB3-BDA3-1B5233BC5254 ]@0x36230000->0x363a7fff dependency: com.apple.iokit.IO80211Family(400.40)[41868296-83CF-41A4-813C-AB76C81DF1B7 ]@0x36182000 dependency: com.apple.iokit.IONetworkingFamily(2.0)[0D1D5E8F-C35E-4D3B-8A74-6D23BCDE48C6 ]@0x36086000 dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(2.6.5)[371238D1-CD26-4E59-B860-D5CA04A2FA09 ]@0x2fb4b000 BSD process name corresponding to current thread: kernel_task Boot args: boot-uuid=47347ABD-AF7E-3EFA-9664-5C333F33BB48 rd=*uuid -v -v Mac OS version: Not yet set Kernel version: Darwin Kernel Version 11.0.0: Sat Jun 18 12:57:44 PDT 2011; root:xnu-1699.22.73~1/RELEASE_I386 Kernel UUID: F8596E5D-0966-3091-AA8D-6E11CA68386F System model name: MacBook3,1 System uptime in nanoseconds: 3266526966 Can you please help me?
