Remove this one, not needed in Sierra. Also make sure to repair permission and rebuild cache. If HDMI doesn't work, then add FakePCIID & FakePCIID_Intel_HDMI_Audio.kext <dict> <key>Comment</key> <string>AppleHDA ALC 292 #4 (Zeroing 1983 codec)</string> <key>Disabled</key> <false/> <key>Find</key> <data> ihnUEQ== </data> <key>Name</key> <string>AppleHDA</string> <key>Replace</key> <data> AAAAAA== </data> </dict> I see you have HDEF patched to layout-id =1 which is correct, but make sure you also have IRQ fix patched too if you patched your own DSDT.

@UnityCthulhu The DSDT needs patching for audio. Here's the updated DSDT, see if it works. DSDT.aml.zip

E6530 El Cap installed but now resets every time I try to boot
Jake Lo replied to gramturismo's topic in The Archive
What's the specs of your system? As Bronxteck comment, if you have both Nvidia and Intel HD, you need Optimus enabled. Nvidia can't be disable in the BIOS so will have to be disabled with DSDT. -

Tested Jake Lo 2 on E7470: V8 ID: E7=0x73 0x03 0x28, EC=0x73 0x01 0x13 Basically the same as R6RC1 -Keyboard / touchpad works; trackstick responses but goes straight to lower right corner and stays there/ Console shows activity with report X,Y,Z -The right mouse buttons for both touchpad / trackstick don't work. 2 finger right click is hard to control / works but need a few tries to get the right speed and pressure After sleep -keyboard continues working but touchpad/trackstick/ left/right mouse button stops working -touchpad seems to have stop working too but while moving finger around, I see right click options appear even though I didn't touch any right mouse or 2 finger tapping -Same for trackstick, right click context shows but I can't click on it since left mouse or mouse movement are not working -Had to use external USB mouse at this point, but the left mouse is not working either, seems to be stuck at right click option

[SOLVED] Black screen on e6420 Sierra upgrade
Jake Lo replied to someitalian123's topic in The Archive
The output looks good. Do you have the vanilla AppleHDA in /System/Library/Extensions? Go to System information under Audio. Select Intel High Definition Audio. What Audio ID does it show? It should show 12.- 20 replies

[SOLVED] Black screen on e6420 Sierra upgrade
Jake Lo replied to someitalian123's topic in The Archive
I mean the output on the terminal when you ran the script. You suppose to run the script from the terminal and not double click it. Launch terminal, type sudo follow by a space and drag the script to the terminal so it looks like this sudo permission.sh- 20 replies

[SOLVED] Black screen on e6420 Sierra upgrade
Jake Lo replied to someitalian123's topic in The Archive
Ahhh, just continue using that DSDT since it's patched for your system. HDMI audio is suppose to run on the HDMI device, not the on-board speakers. If you want it to run on the on-board speaker, just select it from audio preference.- 20 replies

[SOLVED] Black screen on e6420 Sierra upgrade
Jake Lo replied to someitalian123's topic in The Archive
Try using the El Capitan Config file and DSDT you were using. We could update the Sierra patches if it works. You could also try resetting BIOS to default and then SATA Operations to AHCI and see if that helps since you updated the BIOS.- 20 replies

Sorry, I reword it to be more clearer. Here's the updated file config.plist.zip
-
Try networksetup -setairportpower airport off/on and then reboot.
-
Error 17 can be ignored in Sierra. If you still not getting audio, then you might have to change this in the Config file under KextToPatch Under Find: 8319D411 -> 8A19D411 Also Boot Graphics glitch fix must be updated Next to Find, change : 01000075 17 -> 01000075 25 Next to Replace, change: 01000074 17 -> 010000EB 25
-
You already have all the patches required, just need to be enabled in the Config.plist. These are currently showing as disabled. I'm assuming you're using a patched AppleHDA and not VoodooHDA. Patch HDMI-DP port HD4000 1600x900 #1 Patch HDMI-DP port HD4000 1600x900 #2

Ami's issue has been resolved. First he didn't have the DSDT in place. Second, the dummyHDA was not loading, but after a reboot, repair permission and rebuild cache, sound started working. The DSDT also fixed the battery status and USB issue.
-
Just to confirm, you have 1366x768 resolution?
-
You have the lower resolution display, so make sure to use DSDT-LoRes.aml and rename it to DSDT.aml, same for Config-LoRes.plist rename to Config.plist.
