  1. Well, when I created my Extra folder using myhack I already had the kext in my Extra folder.  So when myhack installed my own Extra folder I assumed permission and cache update was taken care of.  I try that.

Which Extra bootpack are you using?

Can you explain your step by step process you took to get this far?

  2. Hi there,

Is there anyone to instruct me trough step by step installation Moutain lion on Dell Optiplex 7010, I am looking for this since 3 months , no luck.

    Here is my desktop details:

    Dell Optiplex core i5

    4 GB DDR3

    Intel HD 2500 (graphics)

    Thanks in advance

If anything else is required please let me know,

According to their posts above, they are able to follow my guide and use the Extra folder for the OptiPlex 9010 model here and it worked nicely.

Follow guide here http://myhack.sojugarden.com/guide/ to create the USB Installer.

    Good luck!

  3. Sorry it has taken me so long to respond back.  I'm just getting the laptop.  I'm having the same issue.  When I get to OSX setup screen I have no mice or keyboard.  I tried the ApplePS2Controller.kext and I still have the issue.  I haven't tried it without.  The drive is plugged into the left rear port.  Am I missing something?

After replacing ApplePS2Controller.kext in the USB installer, did you run myfix to update cache and fix permission?

Please list what's in your Extra\Extension folder of the USB installer.

  5.

    DELL 9010DT Specs: i7-3770/8GB Ram/HD4000/500GB HDD

1,Build USB Installer with myHack with generic Extra folder

    2,Extract Extra - Opt9010 folder to USB

3,Boot with USB Installer    (VGA is not supported? 9010DT HD4000 Doesn't have a DVI or HDMI!  )  VGA is OK to run...

4,Select "Use My Own" and point to Extra - Opt9010

5,Select Yes 3 times to delete issue kexts

6,Install Failed at the end! OS X could not installed on your computer.

Ignore Install Failed error and restart, then...could not work ...boot with USB only... :(

    any suggestion?

You need to get a Displayport to DVI or Displayport to HDMI adapter. Personally, I haven't tested the DP to HDMI adapter, but only DP to DVI adapter which works perfectly. You don't need to rebuild your system, just plug in the adapter and you'll see OSX is installed successfully.

  6. Thanks for this!  I found an excellent guide here on how to build the tool for step 1.

I'm new to OSX Latitude, but I don't reckon this seems THAT difficult to set up thanks to the hard work of folks like you :)

I'm about to give this a go on a Latitude 7010.  Wish me luck!

    Welcome to OSXLatitude kukhuvud,

Your optiplex 7010 should be able to run Mountain Lion.

Please list your specs if you need any assistance.

  7. Excellent, another to the list! Well done!

What do you mean re: Sleep works "manually"? Anything that doesn't work at all?

    Herve,

It won't go to sleep automatically, I have to click on sleep to get it to sleep. I probably need a DSDT file to fix that I guess.

  8. Hi,

I am trying the MyHack too (unifail does't work for me), but I am not succesfull, not sure what is the best procedure. I tried just to make the USB boot stick, boot is ok, but I am not sure what Extra use. When MyHack install process asks for about disabling the Apple stuffI always choose to disable all options and then I have tryied a few Extra folders from here, but not succesfull. I do have NVidia NVS 4200 M 512MB.

Could someone describe MyHack procedure step by step (some, who has "working" built by using this tools). I (and I think I am not the only one) would really appreciate it. Maybe a new thred would be nice. Jake Lo, the first link doesn't work for me (Sorry, we couldn't find that!).

    Thanks to all involved.

You could read more about the tool at the creators website. Another member here Igashu, had gotten his E6520 with Nvidia nvs4200 working pretty well as I had follow it for my E6420 with nvidia display with success. That is pretty close to your hardware, not knowing what your pc specs is. Check out his instruction here and use his bootpack for the build. You should be able to get most thing up and running. Might need some fine tuning after.

Check out this thread as well or use our search function.

  9. Welcome to OSXlatitude Sorcerer,

Here we use the excellent tool myHack by Conti to build our OSX's. If you game, I invite you to test it out. You can start by following the process here.

You can skip the EDP part since this model is not added yet. Just follow the USB Installer Creation and the Installation steps. Use my bootpack to replace the generic Extra folder. You have pretty much the same specs as my E6420, I had to replace the Intel centrino wireless with a Dell DW1510 wireless card, works nicely.

Post back your success or failure.

  10. thousands of THKS!

i followed your great guide and got mountain lion 10.8 working on my e 6410. however, seems that my wireless card is DW 1501/Broadcom 4313, different from your dell 1510/broadcom 4322.

maybe because of that, my wifi does not work.

do you think you could offer me some suggestions?

    thanks lot again!

    BCM 4313 [14e4:4727]/Dell DW1501 is not supported.

Check here for a list of supported wifi card https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/2120-wireless-cards-inventory/

  11. i guess not, installed perfectly....thx Jake Lo

will try and get a DW1510 card now

You're welcome, glad you got your system up and running.

The DW1510 should be working out of the box, it'll show as a third party wireless card. Check out this article by Leon to rebrand this card into an Airport Extreme, that's what I've done for mine.

  12. Hmm, EDP shows this specs:

    Dell Latitude E6530 (i7 3520M & NVS 5200M)

My DSDT and SSDT are for i7 -3720QM & nvs5200m

HDMI sound does work, I've tested that. For SDcard, you might have to modify the deviceID. Use system info.app to find what it is and put it in info.plist

You'll need to install Java for this app to work

    System Info.app.zip
