  1. Greetings, so glad to hear this site is still up, active and supportive. Just picked up a D630/A15bios/QuadroNVS 135M graphics. Used the same USB Pen that I installed on my D430 2 months ago, just changed the removed the DSDT and replaced with the Quadro DSDT from here. Kernel panics almost immediately. Any thoughts? Thanks.
  2. Guys, I can't believe how "on top of it" you continue to be! Thanks again!

    D430

Greetings, just picked me up a D430 (bios A09) and I'm trying to install with the pen method that I've used successfully with my D620 and D630 Lappys. Soon after "MAC Framework successfully initialized"...I get "Using new IRQ layout O, 1" and it stays in that holding position. If I don't "v", the apple logo is in constant rotation. Any thoughts, many thanks in advance. Regards. ssprod
  4. Greetings, glad you're up and running with SL and the 830. Couldn't help but noticing that your issues along the way have been very similar to mine (D630 X3100). I tried this "slice" b.loader, and my system kp'd upon restart. Let me know how it works for you. Cheers. ssprod
  5. Greetings, with the help and gracious advice from the "heavyweights" here, I'm up and running with smiles on my D630-X3100 10.6.6. I've never implemented "Time Machine" on this unit, and I don't want to risk corrupting my install in any way, for obvious reasons. Has any1 had success/problems with T.Machine and 10.6.6? Kind Regards and Thanks. ssprod
  6. Leon, thanks once again sir! That did the trick... Much appreciated! ssprod
  7. Thanks Leon, i'm trying this as we speak...wondering if it's ok to run the Live CD, instead of the USB pendrive? If so, everything seems to be executing properly until the very last command, when I get a response "Operation not supported" Running LSPI, My card is branded (0c:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4311 802.11b/g WLAN [14e4:4311] (rev 01)) ----> Linux results of the re-branding are below. 8. Greetings, Dell D630-X3100 (A17), BCM9431 "Dell" wireless, Snow 10.6.6, RC6 EDP; Weird problem, airport icon shows up on desktop but is OFF, can't turn it ON via desktop or Sys.Pref network panel? Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
  9. Greetings, I'd like to extend my compliments and thanks to the hard workers...they know who they are. Kudos to you boys! Testing RC6 with my D630 for the last hour. The only obvious issue at the the moment is the absence of Audio. Sys. Preferences does not acknowledge any device. Keep up the good work and testing! ssprod
  10. Update: New issues, severe trackpad erratic behaviour, jumpy and uncontrollable. When I replace with Mariusz's dsdt.aml, trackpad is normal in operation but 2xusb side ports are non-functional.
  11. Update: Went back to Thund3's .aml, rebuilt, repaired permiss. via disk utility, and I'm up and running with all USB ports. Regards. ssprod
  12. Greetings Leon, Appreciate the reply. I tried this one, but still to no avail. Wish I could figure this out. ssprod
  13. Greetings, Using Thund3r's "Extra" package, i'm still testing my D630. The side usb ports don't function atm, however the back ones do. Ran UBUNTU Live, just to make sure USB was functioning, they all are. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Thank you. ssprod
  14. Greetings..thanks for your patience, and efforts Thund3r, you were on the money with respect to my methodology. I have since "been corrected" and indeed, your "Extra" folder has resulted in a successful and happy install. Many thanks, once again, and I'll keep in touch! ssprod
  15. I'm gonna try this first thing tomorrow, it's been a long day in the world of OSX86. Your help is greatly appreciated Thund3bolt! I will report back. Hasta Manana! ssprod
  16. After updating to 10.6.6, and copying Thund3r's Extra folder over, remove ioatafamily.kext (as requested), edp tool, reboot---> DVDRW is not recognized, no Audio presently. Bios is A017. Thanks. ssprod
  17. UPDATE: 10 minutes later----> Thund3r, I'm in the process of installation as I write this. The ONLY change I made, on your positive suggestion, was " -x ". That did the trick, for the time being anyways. I'll report back upon completion of the install. Thanks again! ssprod
  18. Hi Thund3r, thanks for your efforts here, most appreciated! I certainly don't want to use any distro, but I'm trying to get to the bottom of this issue, and i'm pulling at straws. I did set ata in the bios. Do my pictures look like I've created the pen correctly? Regards. ssprod
  19. So close but yet.. Tried iFail 10.6.3, installed with RC32bit and x3100 selected, upon completion-->restart system, everything looks and loads fine,"Dmos has arrived"---> blue screen for 1 second, then goes to black with welcome music, but no display.
  20. That's correct, Leon. Can't get it to reach the initial install process. Thanks. ssprod
  21. Greetings, still attempting to get to "first base" with my D630 X3100. Been using Thund3rbolt's newly released USB Pen method and for the life of me, it kp's almost immediately. I'm beginning to suspect that my method of install is not correct. When I use my original Boot132 D620 CD, it appears to get to 90%, then my display goes black. I've taken two shots, just to see what I'm doing (if at all) incorrectly. Thanks very much! ssprod http://img203.imageshack.us/img203/2455/thunder1e.png http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/2749/10362975.png

Man, when the OSX gods made you, they crowned you Prince Leon, thanks a million mate! Now, should I simply delete that kext? Sincerely ssprod

    OSX 10.6.6

Greetings , may have been too presumptuous in going to 10.6.6 on my D620 (A10), but I just k.p'd with "Kernel Extensions in backtrace (with dependencies): sk.triaxis.kext.SleepEnabler (10.5.5)@Ix1c63d000->0x1c63efff Can I remove that kext without re-installing the OS? -s doesn't get me far enough before the kp. Thanks in advance! ssprod
