Thanks Herve, I can confirm I have Graphics Acceleration. All 8 Features are supported. Still have major freezing and intermittent and eratic wifi behaviour, none of these issues exist in Yosemite. ssprod

I'm determined to get this bull to ride. Still experiencing freezes, glitches. Wifi will often cut out, then the wifi icon will turn on/off irractically. None of these issues were present with Yosemite 10.10.5 Any help would be most appreciated.. thanks! ssprod E6420 H-Res El Capa.zip

Update: Managed to install 10.11.1 and enabled "dual-Link=1", GPU is recognized, however i'm still experiencing major freezing when I move my cursor aggressively, change web pages, type quickly, etc. I'm using the identical EFI folder as my succesful Yosemite build. Any thoughts? Thank you. ssprod

Greetings, some time has passed since last addressing my E6420 Hi-Res. I ended up going back to Yosemite , as El Capa wasn't feeling the love. Based on the much-appreciated suggestions which I tried to no avail. I reverted back to 10.10.5. I'd really love to get 10.11 on this machine, as my 2nd E6420 Lo-Res is running El Capa beautifully. To any users of this model (Hi-Res), I would much appreciate your experiences and success stories. Thank you. ssprod

Greetings.. Absolutely loving my E6420 with Yosemite.. the only caveat being that when I plug headphones or powered speakers into the headphone output, the main volume control (icon) does not control the output. Has any1 else experienced this, or do I need to edit my DSDT? The volume slider DOES work with the internal speakers. Thanks so much! ssprod

There is an HPET Fix option that I tried in Clover Configurator. Doesn't seem to make a difference . Also tried the HPET Patch of Rehabman's repository, doesn't seem to improve the issue. Thanks for your efforts Bronxteck

Presently, the system is booting to El Cap without issue, however I'm experiencing compromised performance and "glitches" in behaviour. Currently, I'm using the DSDT and config from post 8, however I've used most of the patched DSDT's available on this site with the same results. When I download any file, the system freezes up forcing a reboot. When I open my DSDT with MacIasl, the system freezes, however when I extract a raw DSDT from the 6420, it seems fine. Any help on the issue would be most helpful. Just to summarize, my cpu is a 2520M, GPU is Intel HD3000 1600x900 Hi Res. Thanks!

Jake, tried this. Weird issue.. goes to black screen, goes into sleep mode immediately, when I wake it up I can see the MacOSX setup utility, but when I hover the cursor over to Utilities, the screen turns black/illuminated. Tried enabling dual link in your config. but same result. Sorry for the trouble, mate! Scratching my head on this one! ----> Update: I seem to be able to boot to the installer presently by checking Inject EDID+ Load Video Bios in Clover Options of USB. Shall see how the install proceeds. Thanks.

Thanks for your efforts here Jake, unfortunately the result is the same, black screen just before graphics. I replaced the DSDT in post#3 with your attachment in post#4.

Hi Jake..once again thank you! Well, this gets me farther into the bootloader but renders a black screen just before graphics. With the exception of the edit you've suggested I'm using the identical EFI folder and contents as the lo-res unit. E6420 Hi Res EFI.zip

Greetings.. completed my El Capitan installation on 1 x E6420 HD3000 Lo-Res.. all is running beautifully, however my 2nd E6420 happens to be Hi-Res (1600x900 + i5 2520 CPU) and my Clover USB does not boot to the installer screen. I have tried using the hi-res DSDT from https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/7091-dell-latitude-e6420-with-i5-2410m-hd3000-and-1600x900-lcd-mavericks/, but that renders unsuccesful results also. Yes, I'm currently MBA 5,2.. Doing as much reading as I can on this site, that is the only method by which my 1520 will function. So, there's another solution i'm assuming.. patch AirPortBrcm4360. Must investigate. Once again, thanks for your valuable insight, Jake.

Thanks Jake.. So I applied the DSDT patch and installed USB_Injector.kext_v2, which resulted in successful USB recognition, however the internal webcam is still not functional...and Macam still "requires a connected camera". ssprod

Greetings.. All seems to be functional running El Cap on my E6420 (IntelHD3000).. however, assuming all models were equipped with a webcam, mine doesn't seem to be recognized on my machine. Installed "macam" but it doesn't see a camera either. Any suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks so much. ssprod

Greetings.. a new acquisition of an old soldier: HP EliteBook 8440P Intel Core i5 540M (Arrandale) Nvidia NVS 3100M GPU Attempting to install El Capitan 10.11 via Clover Legacy (tried with default config and nvidia config without success) Picture shows where it gets stuck, then results in corrupted verbose Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.. don't want to bury this baby just yet.
