  1. Do a search on the forum, the IO80211Family kext has been uploaded several times before. For Broadcom kexts, go to the usual kext place... http://www.osx86.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=972
  2. Yes, the BT adapter was optional on many Dell laptops, including the Latitude D Series... If present (under left screen hinge) and radio is enabled, you'd see the blue BT LED lit next to the wifi LED near the right screen hinge. The DW1390 works OOB, the DW1395 needs the patched IO80211 kext or the BCM43xxx kext. Both work equally well far as I can tell (I have both on my D laptops).
  3. Yes, it should work OOB, provided you have the adapter's radio enabled. Do you know the model? We can provide a patched kext to allow radio enabling from Mac OS.
  4. Enjoy! That's a good 2nd life to have... PS: put a decent FSB800 Core2Duo CPU (eg: T7500 or better) in that Vostro1510 and you could have a nice D830-equivalent capable to run Snow Leopard and Lion; even Mountain Lion if it has nVidia graphics.
  5. Hi, we should be able to get this particular model fully operational. You have the desktop version of the Intel G965 with ICH8 and that works pretty well in our well-known D630 (mobile version of the chipset of course). Nothing wrong with ICH8 as far as I'm concerned, well at least on laptops... There's a good chance you can only install OS X with AHCI mode enabled for your HDD. That may not be an available option in the BIOS, in which case, you could be forced to stick with RAID mode settings (which does not mean you have to operate a RAID array). The ATI X1300 should be able to operate fully in SL (and in SL only). Could you try and get the device id (may be through the Windows device driver properties if you're unfamiliar with that)? You're highly likely to require a patch for that (well, I did to get mine to work on my Vostro 200). Audio and Ethernet already work, which is good. Audio should be supported by latest VoodooHDA kexts. What I'd recommend you to do is the following: 1) create a myHack SL installer with default/Generic /Extra 2) if it's not already installed by default, add IOATAFamily kext to /Extra/Extensions. This kext should allow you to detect your HDD through the ICH8 SATA controller 3) re-run myHack->myFix (full) afterwards on your USB installer 4) edit your boot plist to disable GraphicsEnabler See if that installer boots (with boot option GraphicsEnabler=No initially) and allows you to perform a basic SL 10.6.3 installation. If it does, you'll hopefully be able to reboot to complete your basic SL installation. We can then add the various kexts you require for LAN, audio (if it does not work OOB), video/graphics, etc. For LAN, you can indeed use the IntelE1000e kext but we recommend the Intel82566MM kext. For Video, have a look at my Vostro 200 guide in the EDP -> Supported Models section. Basically, you're probably gonna need an injecter + patched kexts. Boot with -v flag to see what happens on screen. You say the system seems to become unresponsive if you leave it idle and that sleep does not work -> it's probably because it requires a proper DSDT table to be provided. Have a look at the DSDT section to find out how to extract it and get it patched by Dinesh. But that can be looked into once you have all hardware working. To me, this particular desktop should be able to run SL, Lion and ML without problems and in 32/64bit kernel mode. It will require a different graphics card for ML though, possibly for Lion too... 6. Which version are you currently running? If you're already running 10.7.4, you can do a simple software update via Apple Menu. If lower than 10.7.4, just do a search on the forum, the method has been posted several times before. Meantime, I'll go and update the D820 bootpack so that it contains the correct DSDT table.
  7. That should work, yes. If you get it, please add it to the thread in R&D -> Hardware -> Network. https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/2120-wireless-cards-inventory/
  8. Hi and welcome. Some list! Create a thread for each machine you want help on. That Dimension e520 should be able to run SL/L/ML (but you'll find you'll have to change that graphics card for L and ML). Anyway, let's see all that in the support section.
  9. Try this: http://www.osx86.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=2471 'may need patching with your PCI ids... If it does not work, then consider changing your wireless card.
  10. This has been discussed several times on the forum before. Do a search on say "BIOS recovery" and you'll find various instructions. It's the same process across the D Series (and other models too). Simplest way is the method with a .hdr BIOS file on a USB key.
  11. Another thing to try: the DSDT table of the D620 nVidia (I just remembered that a D630 GMA HiRes would boot to black screen without the proper DSDT table). 1) download the D620 nVidia bootpack, rename its DSDT table to say 'D620_DSDT.aml' and copy the file to /Extra 2) reboot with manual bootloader option 'DSDT=/Extra/D620_DSDT.aml'
  12. What if you try a more recent Chameleon boot file then? Like r2181 or even beyond (I think it's up to 2189)? You can update through Chameleon Wizard provided you have an Internet connection.
  13. @Demolish, we don't even have the specs for this model. If you have one, could you please provide them so that we can get started?
  14. Ok, will wait for your feedback then. Graphics issue under ML is to be expected: Apple totally dropped support for GMA950 in ML (ML is 64bit mode only and there's no 64bit GMA950/X3100 kexts since an early SL update), so you won't get any resolution switching or acceleration. You can manually force resolution (up to max res) through Chameleon boot plist, but that's it. That's why SL and Lion are recommended since they still support GMA950 in 32bit mode. To ensure that we can do a complete Vanilla installation, I'd invite you to download IORegistryExplorer and extract the IO details to pass on to us. You could also take a note of HW id info through Apple Menu -> About this Mac -> More info/System references and, in the Hardware section, look for: vendor + device id of Ethernet interface vendor + device id of Bluetooth module (it may appear under USB if nothing under bluetooth) vendor + device id of audio hardware (if listed) reference of controller under SATA (if listed)
  15. When the bootloader 1st appears as you boot, look at top left corner. Otherwise, once OS X booted, look at boot version in 1st tab of Chameleon Wizard if you have it installed. If you have r2181, replace your /boot file by r2170 version. I've put it here some time ago: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/2137-wanted-edp-4-or-older/
  16. Which version of Chameleon boot file are you runing? r2181, r2170?
  17. Thanks, let's get the integration started! Are LAN + Bluetooth + audio working?
  18. Intel cards are not supported under Mac OS X. You'll need to replace it by a compatible card. Look for a provisionnal list in R&D hardware section->Network. It looks like you would need a full-size mini-PCIe model. Could you post your zipped /Extra folder so that we look at integrating this new model in EDP? Thanks. Which model is it exactly by the way? I see a whole list of R500 variants on the Toshiba web site... According to the Toshiba online documentation, chipset is Intel 945GM, not 965GM. As such, with GMA950 graphics, ML is not the best Mac OS X version to install as support for that chip was dropped and you'll have no hardware acceleration, i.e. poor graphics (same as Dell D6x0 GMA models). Lion would however give you full QE/CI, so it's probably better to stick to that (or SL). I've looked at the specs of all listed models and the Portégé 500 is similar to the Dell D430, with added benefits of standard SATA HDD/SDD as opposed to the infamous ZIF models used in the Dell + more ports or built-in accessories: Intel 945GM chipset Intel C2D FSB533 CPUs: U7600 1.2GHz or U7700 1.33GHz GMA950 graphics 12.1" WXGA LED LCD up to 2GB DDR2 RAM SATA 5400rpm 120/160GB HDD or 64/128GB SSD Optical drive PC card slot Intel Pro/1000 10/100/1000 Ethernet Intel 4965 802.11a/g/n wireless Bluetooth 2.0 adapter SD card reader Fingerprint reader Eg: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=SB&os=&category=&moid=1750568&rpn=PPR50U&modelFilter=R500-S5002&selCategory=2756709&selFamily=1073768662 http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=SB&os=&category=&moid=2054138&rpn=PPR50U&modelFilter=R500-S5007V&selCategory=2756709&selFamily=1073768662 Definitely a nice notebook to integrate to EDP. We just need to identify audio + Bluetooth + SD card reader hardware to ensure/confirm compatibility, but maybe they work OOB? Intel Pro/1000 Ethernet might be a problem depending on exact version...
  19. Is GraphicsEnabler set to 'Yes' in your Chameleon boot plist?
  20. How about when booting with -f flag? Which graphics card and CPU do you have? Have a look here: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/2115-black-screen-after-edp-update/page-3 You may want to try that and report back. But it's something that needs further investigation...
  21. Mmm, looks like the NIC kexts are missing following latest bootpack generation. Bear with us and we'll fix it... Meantime, please copy attached kext to /Extra/Extensions and re-run myFix (full). AppleBCM5751Ethernet.kext.zip
  22. Without NullCPUPowerManagement kext, you'd normally check P & C States of the Chameleon boot plist to activate them. However, with Clover... ?
  23. Well, I don't know, I've never experienced or heard of such repeatable issues. Maybe your copy of ML is corrupt.
  24. Hi, interesting work... How far did you get with our OSXL installation method (myHack + additional kexts in /E/E) for potential integration into EDP?
  25. Can you at least get ML started by booting off your myHack USB installer, then selecting your ML HDD partition?
