  1. Hi Quantan. Can you give some indications how you proceeded to install El Capitan on your E6410. I would like to do the same if it is not too complicated.
  2. Hi Leon Really glad you reached an agreement. Keep my donation to go on with the good work.
  3. Thanks for the info Hervé. Can I just update from AppStore on my E6410 (patel4prez installation guide) or do I have to reinstall ? Merci
  4. @all I finally upgraded to Yosemite after using Mavericks on my laptop for a few months and after numerous failed trials. I upgraded first to 10.10.1 and then from Appstore to 10.10.3. Working fine with a few tweaks. Lost iMessage that was working in Mavericks. System does not close unless I push and hold the power button. Power button and bluetooth stay on if I don't do that. Last thing, I lost sensors information on cpu and gpu temps in iStat. only show HDD temps. Info on these problems would help. Anyone has had and solved these ? Edit: 05-10-2015 Installed new Fakesmc for Yosemite and got cpu & gpu temp sensors back. Face time and AppStore woks but not iMessage.
  5. Thanks for your answer but I am already on bios A16. So it seems some thing else is going on.
  6. @patel4prez Hi, I tried twice to install Yosemite following your guide upgrade path. I tried with two different usb keys. My problem start when I get to line 32 and 33 of the Installation guide. Line 32 says that the machine should reboot, upon that Press F12 to boot from "USB Storage Device". Line 33 says: Let it boot to the drive/partition that you installed Yosemite to. Well my problem starts here. When the machine boots from the "USB Storage device", it just starts to reinstall the OS. No other choice is offered. If I let it go (so I did one time), it goes through the installation of the OS, starting with the choice of language, etc. So I am in a loop . It never goes to desktop. If I try to boot from the drive I installed Yosemite on , the machine does not boot as it does not find a bootloader as the "Post Installation procedure was not done. Any idea what is going on ? Did I failed somewhere in the process ? Can you tell me what normally happens at steps 32 and 33. It seems my problem is there. Thanks in advance fro your help. Note that my installation of Mavericks was done without problem and that I am upgrading (at least trying) Yosemite on a clone copy of my HDD, so I won't loose my working OS.
  7. Thanks Wuerge for your answer As you can see in my signature, my system is similar to yours except for the cpu which is i5 in my case. I was wondering if I should follow the upgrade path or the new installation path to upgrade to Yosemite. And I was considering too your solution for sound. I just saw that Patel has published his patch for sound so I will try that before. I think I will first try the upgrade path in Patel's guide and if I am not successful, the full installation later on. I'll give news after.
  8. Hi Wuerge I am interested in your solution. I have a few questions; 1- What do you mean by "on MBR partition" ? 2- did you follow Patel4prez guide full installation path or the upgrade path ? 3- What is your system configuration ? thanks for your help.
  9. @patel4prez Upgrading was easy and without problem. Are you considering modifying your guide when Yosemite will become available officially ?
  10. @patel4prez @ako @iMeek Thanks for your answer. Going to update.
  11. Hi @lls Did anyone installed OSX 10.9.5 on the e6410 ? Any precautions else than backup before updating ?
  12. Hi all I should have indicated that this occurs with OS X 10.9.4.
  13. Hi I tried to connect my Dell e6410 laptop to an external LCD screen through the VGA connector of the laptop. I just got a black screen on the laptop and and same thing on the LCD. Any reason for that ?
  14. I understand quite well the necessity of avoiding duplicate postings. The removed message (95% similar because I think I did some small adjustments) not in the same thread, was intended to give news of my solution and thanks to the people like you who helped me in finding a solution. No big deal. We say in Québec. "C'est pas la fin du monde." Salutations/Greetings
  15. @patel4prez I received your notifications for my message posted 23rd of july. Thanks. Seems that message disappeared !!!!! It does not show anymore. How is it possible . Was it erased for some reason ?
  16. EUREKA ! Finally, I got iMessages and AppStore working. As mentioned in my previous message, I did a complete reinstall without my WiFi card. Finally I got Ethernet as en0. Afterwards, I did pop in my wifi card. I had some trouble following deanos19 solution because Chameleon Wizard was giving me an error message saying I had no Internet connection. So I downloaded the fileNvram.dylib file from the web and put it in the Extra/Modules folder manually . After making the modification to the PlatFomUUID, reboot and voilà ! Both iMessages and AppAStore are working. Thanks a lot to all those who so kindly gave some help. Afterwards, I think that installing without wifi card was the key to my problems. Before that, all my attempts were unsuccessful because always my ethernet connection was identified as "en1" . Installing system without it insured that it was recognized as "en0". So again many thanks to all.
  17. Merci, Thanks Hervé for your help. I fear to harass people with my questions. Anyway, my last attempt of corrections ended with a non booting OSX drive. So I'll try a full new installation. I gathered and printed all suggestions of correction on this forum and I will try starting from the beginning,,another time. Wish me luck. I'll do that ,this week end. I am thinking of taking out the wifi card before installation a make installation without it. Will give news afterward.
  18. Thanks again for your patience. In tried different searches but did find anything about "network preferences/plists in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration." Maybe I do not do it the right way. I did try again, in Network Preferences the different steps: Delete networks adaptors, ethernet and wifi. Reboot. Create Ethernet, apply. Reboot. In network_config file, when creating Ethernet adaptor, the choice offered already shows "en1" as id. In new-Config, after rebooting, same situation. Well it's late, I'll get back to this tomorrow. Good night !
  19. Thanks for your answer.Tried that twice without success. After deleting, when I try to create the new network adapter, in the option list (your 1), it is already identified as en1 this line cannot be edited. In the second line, I can give the name I want. After rebooting, in System information, ethernet is still en1. In network, i have others peripherals, bluethoot, modem, firewire. I did not delete these. Should I have deleted them too ?
  20. Thanks to both of you for answering my question. Bronxteck: I do have a file named FileNVRAM.dylib in the Extra/Modules folder. Hervé: I consulted ifconfig in Terminal, but I find it rather difficult to understand. In About this Mac, Network, Configuration, Ethernet Adapter has "en1" identification and Wifi has BSD Peripheral name "en0". So I guess a part of my problem is there. I will look up the Forum to find a solution. If you can direct m e to a precise reference, please do. Anyway, I'll try to work it out.
  21. Hi, I have the same problem with OSX 10.9.4. Tried changing the serial number several times, but still no go. . Error message : your computer could not be verified. Any suggestion ?
  22. thanks for answering. Done that but no go. Same problems again. Rough time for my optimism. Another question. In About this Mac, system report, this machine is identified as MacBook Pro 8,1. In SmBios (chameleon Wizard), MacBook Pro 8,1 refer to a machine with i5 and i7 Sandy Bridge. Our i5 is not of that generation. In the proposed list, it would rather be nearer to 6,1 or 6,2. Has this choice any importance ? As I am new to hackintoshing, my question may be inadequate.
  23. Thanks Jake Lo for the answer. Since I still had the same problems with iMessage and AppStore, I did a full reinstallation from the start. I followed deano019s advice for iMessage, I did generate a serial number with Chameleon Wizard, changed the PlatformUUID following instructions and still no deal. I generated again a new serial number wit CH Wizard, but still no go. I could live without iMessage but AppStore appears to be a problem for getting new Apps or even any future version of OSX. As now, updates from AppStore are functionning . But I am unable to download new apps. Error messages are the same as mentioned in post no. 259. Am I a case apart or is this a known problem ? Is anyone with the same configuration having the same problem ? I would like to hear from you. Thanks in advance
  24. Installed my wifi card (dw1510). Works well under Windows and OSX. Only ? is that under Windows, the wifi light is on (blue) and under OSX, it does not show. Wifi is working but no light. Any reason why ?
  25. Thanks Hervé. I just received my DW1510 wifi card. I think I'll do a full reinstallation.
