  1. Hi.. When booting up for first time after lion installation, external usb keyboard is required to pass that. After that, the built in keyboard works normally. Not sure if anyone has found a way to bypass that. Cheers!
  2. Hi.. Try boot install usb with mach_kernel -v -f Cheers!
  3. Hi.. Try removing the AppleHDA kext in S/L/E. Cheers!
  4. Hi... I'm using the apple kext and its working quite well. Cheers!
  5. Hi.. If you can boot os x from that hard disk I don't think it will be a problem to boot to windows as your computer can access the hard disk already. Cheers!
  6. Hi.. I normally use copycat x. Cheers!
  7. Hi.. I used to get that error message during installation because the partition i want to install os x is too small. Is you os x partition at least 15 gigs? Cheers!
  8. Hi... Try boot into safe mode with "mach_kernel -v -f -s". Then type "/sbin/fsck -fy" . "/sbin/mount -uw /" . Lastly, "touch /private/var/db/.AppleSetupDone" and "exit" . Cheers!
  9. Hi.. Did some googling and found out that os x lion no longer allow screen to wake with the movement of mouse but requires e.g. a tap on the keyboard. So far I have tested this and its works. Tapping my keyboard will wake the screen. But I'm still not sure why the system freeze when the mouse is use first e.g. tapping the mouse key. Cheers!
  10. Hi.. If your D430 has a core 2 duo processor it should be able to run os x lion. I'm not sure if you can just upgrade (haven't really bump into someone or article on upgrading) but for me i prefer a fresh install. You'll need to transfer the Lion USB Installer to another usb (e.g. using latest xfail), install bootpack and chameleon and run the installer. After lion is installed, you'll need to install EDP, rebuild you mkext and with good luck boot into an all new OS X lion. Well, that's how to do it in general. Check out the wiki for details. Cheers!
  11. Hi... Yes. The EDP is post install configuration that you need to run in order to get your system devices usable. Cheers!
  12. Hi... I just realized that my display don't wake up and system freeze after leaving it for a while. I think it may be related to the recent 10.7.3 update. It was perfectly fine before that. Anyone experiencing the same problem? Cheers!
  13. Hi.. it seems that the nullcpupowermanagement.kext may not be present in your extra folder. Try and check to see if its there. If it is you may need to repair permissions. If its not there, you may need to copy from edp into it and repair permission. Or you can remove appleintelcpupowermanagement.kext from s/l/e folder. Maybe these few options can solve it. Cheers!
  14. Hi.. Boot into safe mode with -s flag after mach_kernel and replace the dsdt with the old one. Cheers!
  15. Hi ovi, Its seems your kext maybe a 32 bit kext but the kernel tried to load it as 64 bit for some reason. i'm not sure if anyone have found ways to manipulate bit mode in loading kext. I'm quite interested how to boot kext in 32 bit although the kernel boot in 64 bit. So far my attempts to use the boot flag on mach kernel to boot in 32 bit mode has not been successful. If you interested you can try to use after mach_kernel arch=i386 and -x32 individually or any combination order to see if lion can boot 32 bit mode and/or can load the kext. Cheers!
  16. Hi markitos, Can you post more detail on the error message? Cheers!
  17. Hi... I would think its safer to install the manual way as per wiki and use chameleon to dual boot. Any reason why you need to use boot camp? Cheers!
  18. Dear Pascal, Its supposed to be IO80211Family.kext. Probably someone accidentally renamed it while copying. Cheers!
  19. Dear Pascal, Do you know the model for your Dell WLAN card? Cheers!
  20. Hi kenny... To avoid having to use -f each time you boot you need to rebuild the mkext. Either use the EDP tool or Kext Utility. Actually, you need to rebuilt the mkext each time you install new kexts for faster booting and system stability. Cheers!
  21. Hi... You can click on the wiki tab above and it will bring you to a page with essential guides to get your os x roaring. Check it out as it provide useful introduction including the things I mentioned above. Cheers!
  22. Hi.. I think 25g is more than enough. You can install os x snow leopard in the new partition and leave Windows 7 untouched. The chameleon boot loader will allow you to dual boot both os x and windows. The wiki creates a gpt disk but maintaining your current mbr is good enough. You don't need a usb keyboard to install and boot os x snow leopard. Although the built in trackpad will be very slow (from my experience) upon first boot but good enough to just allow the edp 1.9.2 to be installed. If you intend to create a usb installer, you'll need at an 8g usb. By the way, as your D520 is core duo, you can only install os x snow leopard. OS X lion can only be installed to a core 2 duo system. Cheers!
  23. Hi.. Your hard disk should be mounted in the Volumes directory. Cheers!
  24. Dear ovi, You can display the -v printout by typing "sudo dmesg" in the terminal. Dmesg prints it from a log file which should be somewhere in the /var or /var/log directory. Cheers!
