  1. Hi Mr. A, First of all let me welcome you to osx latitude. We hope your stay here will be a pleasant one! Did you use myhack 3 to prepare the usb installer? If you did, after installing and configuring EDP you'll need to run myfix from myhack in full mode. After that you can reboot and it should work fine. Cheers!
  2. Hi Dellboy, You are trying to install Leopard or Snow Leopard? Cheers!
  3. Dear herve, Just disable dynamic acceleration in bios and you're set! Cheers!
  4. Hi dellboy, The bootloader is refering to chameleon. From an existing hack or mac, you need to use myhack 3.1 to prepare the usb installer. Once you have done that, boot into the usb installer and run myhack under the utilities menu. Select install chameleon to install it to you os x installation. The Extra zip is refering to bootpack which can be downloaded from "Installation --> Downloads" in the wiki / website. Download the model that fits your rigs. Similarly, you need to use myhack from the usb installer to install the bootpack Extra into your os x installation and then reboot. Once you boot into your os x installation, run EDP, run myfx full mode and reboot. Cheers!
  5. Dear Jerseydan, The bootpack for your model from 'Installation / Bootpacks' menu above. Yes. myfix run after installing Extra but its not full mode. You need to re-run myfix and select full mode. Cheers!
  6. Dear herve, Good to hear your rig is working now. Cheers!
  7. Hi saphire, Have you tried to reinstall chameleon after fixing the windows boot? You can avoid having to boot from the usb and directly from hard disk. Chameleon will only replace the mbr while the bootsector of the windows partition will remain untouch. Cheers!
  8. Hi herve, Nope its not backlight issues. I just notice that you have high resolution X3100 model. Look around for a modified dsdt.aml for high resolution screen in the forum. I think that's what you need. From the boot messages, the boot went well and the problem is the gui did not load. Cheers!
  9. Hi dellboy,You can refer to your other post : https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/62-dell-latitude-d620-thread/page__pid__9351__st__260#entry9351 Cheers!
  10. Hi dellboy, Try to reinstall chemeleon from myhack to your new os x system. After you installed the Extra or EDP to your new os x system, make sure you run full myfix in myhack. Cheers!
  11. Dear bigs, Myfix is an option that comes when you run myhack. So its really myhack. Cheers!
  12. Hi videokid, Can you boot with mach_kernel arch=i386 -v -f and let me know where it get stuck. Cheers!
  13. Dear robi, Using 3g usb modem like huawei is also known to cause slow shutdown. Are you using one? Cheers!
  14. Dear jawn, May I know which DP version of ML did you tried this method with? Apart from that, which version of SL or L those GMA kexts was from that you tried? Cheers!
  15. Dear moonman, Try this. Create a new SL install usb with myhack 3.1 and run the installer. If the installer fails, use myhack again to install Extra from the osxl bootpack and try to run the installer again with mach_kernel arch=i386 -v -f (so that we can see where it gets stuck). If the installer completed, use the bootpack Extra again on the new SL installation. If you managed boot into the new SL system , install EDP 1.9.2, run myfix full mode and reboot. Cheers!
  16. Dear Jerseydan, After you installed the bootpack, run myfix in full more from the usb installer that was created with myhack 3.1 and boot with mach_kernel arch=i386 -v -f. Try this. Cheers!
  17. Dear Jawn, Did you try to replace the AppleACPIPlatform.kext, etc, as above? So far we have yet to test on a D830. I'm assuming your problem in the other post is resolved. Cheers!
  18. Dear glebe, It would be helpful to other members if you could shed some light on how you resolved it. Cheers!
  19. Dear smp, Try this on your installed system (not necessary to do a clean install). Download the Extra bootpack for your D630 intel and use myhack to install the Extra to your os x system. After that, reinstall chameleon from myhack. Reboot with mach_kernel arch=i386 -v -f. If you get in, again reinstall EDP, run myfix and reboot. By the way, what your leopard or lion version? Are you on 10.7.4? Cheers!
  20. Hi saphire, If you always needs to use windows 7 every now and then like for work, you may want to consider installing windows 7 on the first partition instead of os x. That way, when you add / removing new partition on os x, your windows partition will not be effected especially its partition number and will always be within the first four partition that hybrid mbr can recognize. If windows 7 cannot boot when you add / remove partition, run gptsync, remake windows partition active and repair with windows dvd if you have problem. You will still need a second hard disk or osx usb install handy when you run gptsync as it needs the hard disk to be unmounted. I also have similar set up. Before this, I always had problem with my windows 7 which always break each time I add / delete partition when testing. By the way, windows 7 can be installed on gpt disk using gptsync. We have a wiki here: http://www.osxlatitude.com/dual-boot-osx-windows-made-easy/ Cheers!
  21. Dear saphire, Great report on your testing with a E6500 as well as myHack 3.1. By the way, what in the RTUSB D2870-4.2.3.0 UI-4.0.7.0_2012_04_18.dmg? Keep it flowing Cheers!

  23. Hi videokid, Download the bootpack for D430 from the installation drop menu in the website and install the Extra using myhack from the usb installer that you prepared with myhack 3. After that run myfix full mode. Once, you're in the os x system, install EDP, run myfix full mode and reboot. That should do it. Cheers!
  24. Hi Glebe, Try to reinstall EDP and run myfix full mode. Cheers!
