Dear rjjd, The process is the same for your new os x installation. Have you replace the appleacpiplatform.kext in your new os x system? If you have not, do exactly as my previous post for the usb installer. Cheers!
-
Dear PatArch, In short, you can transfer your existing os x installation in your man mini to the D630. However, you will need to clone your mac mini hard disk to D630 hard disk using cloning software such as carbon copy cloner. Easiest would be to remove the D630 hard disk and turn it into an external usb hard disk for transfer purpose. After that, install the D630 bootpack to the D630 hard disk, boot it, install myhack utilities, run EDP 3 and reboot. That should work. Cheers!

Dear bpedman, NullCPUPowerManagement.kext basically disable the AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext. There are replacement kexts voodoopstate and intelcpumonitor. The voodoopstate enables speed step which automatically control your cpu frequencies (and hence temperature and battery consumption). The EDP 3 does not support fully your E6530 yet. So you may need to look around for a kext for your 82579LM network card. As for wireless, you will need to purchase a wifi card that os x support such as broadcom as your intel wifi card is not supported. For your resolution, look around in the forum about graphics enabler and graphics mode for nvdia cards to solve your resolution issues. Cheers!

Dear bpedman, You can download the kext from below and replace the kext manually: http://team.osxlatitude.com/?dir=fixes/coolbook-lion For your information, you need to remove or move the original AppleACPIPlatform.kext inside /System/Library/Extensions and copy the one from the link above into it (you can use terminal under utilities in the installer). After that, run myfix to repair permission and reboot. Cheers!

D820 wireless not working after update from 10.7.2 to 10.7.4
Syonagar replied to hfs3's topic in The Archive
Dear hfs, You need to run myhack and install myhack utilities to your os x system. After that, try EDP 3 again. Cheers! -
Dear rjjd, Yes. You need to replace the appleacpiplatform.kext in your usb installer's /S/L/E (that you created using myhack), run myfix full mode and then boot with march_kernel arch=x86_64 -v -f. Cheers!

Dear hackymac, I think its a great idea! I think i'm not wrong when i say what you meant is an FAQ section. We'll strongly consider this and may blog it in the osxl website sooner than you think. Cheers!

Dear trowakage, For your information, we have closed the marketplace forum as we think that the more established big sites are more suitable for this. Nonetheless. I have searched though our archive and found one post that may be the one that you were looking for :- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- chasmataz i have (2) D420s (1) D510 (1) D620 (1) D630 and (1) D830 for sale. $75-$150, send me a private mssg if you're looking for something to mess with. they're all running Snow at the present time, the 630 and 830 had Lion on them but i went back to Snow, just found it less hassle having everything running the same system. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- p/s: My apologies on the title change as my attemp to attach the post to this post was not forthcoming Cheers!

Dear saffant / iamnotreallyhere, When you boot up the modcd, isn't the usb part of the chameleon bootloader selection? I have not tested this but you could try to copy the /boot file and /Extra folder from the modcd to the usb installer and use dd to burn the boot0 of chameleon to the usb mbr and boot1h to the os x install partition. DD for windows can be downloaded here : http://www.chrysocome.net/dd Chameleon (including boot0 and boot1h) can be downloaded from here : http://forum.voodoop...g8tf3enhk3i9laa Cheers!

Dear bpedman, Yes. You need reinstall grub with grub-install /dev/sda1 --force (force is required as it is not install to an MBR). After that, you can re-install chameleon and dual boot. If you do not want to display the grub bootmenu, you can set display time to 0 in /etc/default/grub and run grub-update again. Pertaining to the appleacpiplatform.kext KP:- (a) Re-run myfix full mode and try to reboot with mach_kernel arch=i386 -v -f (b ) If that doesn't work try to apply the coolbook fix in EDP and reboot with mach_kernel arch=i386 -v -f (it will replace the appleacpiplatform.kext with one from SL) Cheers!

Dear bpedman, You'll need to use a linux live cd and shrink your existing partition to allow for a new second partition to install os x into. After that, use disk utility to format the new partition to hfs plus and install os x into it. Once you've finished install, chameleon will be installed into your mbr. So, you need to reinstall grub to your first partition (not mbr) so that you can boot into ubuntu. Cheers!
-
Dear cklea, You should use the latest EDP 3. Can you boot with mach_kernel arch=i386 -v -f and let me know where it KP? Cheers! Update: I've checked with a fellow crew that has a similar model and option no 1 in EDP 3 should work.
-
Dear bpedman, Have you tried EDP 3? You can try the EDP for E6500. Let me know how it went. Cheers!

Dear rob, You may want to read our guide in the Installation / How To Install OS X To Dell top menu above. In general:- (1) You need to create the usb installer by using myhack 3.1 (2) Install Extra bootpack (can be downloaded from Installation / Downloads Bootpack top menu above) to the usb installer (although the bootpack mentioned lion, you can also use it for snow leopard) (3) Run myfix full mode on the usb installer (4) Boot the installer with mach_kernel arch=i386 -f -v (5) Once you've install os x, when myhack ask for Extra, use your own and again select the bootpack Extra above. (6) Reboot and boot with mach_kernel arch=i386 -v -f (7) Once you've in, run EDP 1.9.3 and myfix full mode and reboot That should do it. Cheers!

Hi rjjd, You need to replace the appleacpiplatform.kext in the /System/Library/Extensions either manually or use one of the gui helper like kext wized, etc. Another option is to run EDP and apply the coolbook fix (it will also replace the appleacpiplatform.kext). Cheers!

Hi ckleea,On the trackpad / trackpoint issue, have you tried other kext for ps/2 mouse and keyboard in EDP?On how to install lion 10.7.4, you first need to read our guide in menu above on how to install 10.7, download combo update for 10.7.4, replace appleacpiplatform.kext in S/L/E by running the fix coolbook option inside EDP, run myfix full mode and reboot. As simple as that.Cheers!
-
Dear rob, For snow leopard, you need to use EDP 1.9.2. Have you tried our method above to install snow leopard? Cheers!
-
Dear valhalla, Have you tried to add back the dsdt.aml to Extra to see if your boot up works? Cheers!
-
Dear sfs, I would suggest that you create another partition to install lion for testing. That way, you always have your main os x system available. I have not really heard or read anyone actually upgrading their existing os x snow leopard but I would advice that you do clean install as our method are tested on a clean install of lion app from app store or retail usb. You can run EDP 3 after that and test kexts from models closes to your spec and give it a try. Let us know how it goes. Cheers!

Dear jssingh, Can you access the dvd disk and usb disk from os x ? Cheers!

lion on d630 (basic system running. Now enable wifi/eithernet/etc)
Syonagar replied to kallumama's topic in The Archive
Hi kalumama, I think you need the high resolution dsdt.aml. Look for a high resolution dsdt.aml for D630 X3100 Intel from the forum. Cheers!
