esmith1966
Trying out this bootpack with my machine now... Should we upgrade to A20 on the bios?
Moderators Jake Lo Posted November 19, 2017 Moderators Share Posted November 19, 2017 Bootpack above is for non Optimus version, HD 4000 only. For some reason, he's not getting artifacts for BIOS A20, maybe he has different model LCD.
sp00ge
Thanks to everyone in this thread, I've managed to get 10.13 finally installed on my E6530.I had to use the Optimus boot pack (as I have the NVIDIA520M Discrete) to disable the NVIDIA and just use the Intel HD4000,but I can't get sound or the USB ports working. I previously had sound and the USB ports working in 10.12 and have even tried using the same Kexts and Clover ACPI patches but no sound card is detected in OS X or the USB ports work (Apart from the rear corner) Do I need newer versions of previous APPLEHDA/IDT and GenericUSBXHCI kext files, or should just files from the Optimus pack work ? Thanks.
Moderators Jake Lo Posted November 20, 2017 Moderators Share Posted November 20, 2017 @sp00ge, if sound worked in Sierra, it should work in High Sierra too. Did you add the kexts in /EFI/Clover/kexts/Other/LE to /Library/Extensions Repair permission and rebuild cache? For USB, you need to update the port limit patch from 10.12 to 10.13 and use USBInjectAll. For IvyBridge, use the 9-Series patch. GenericUSBXHCI stopped support at 10.
sp00ge
I started with just the files from the Optimus ZIP file a few pages back. There were only 2 files from that to go in /L/E after I repaired permissions and rebuilt cache. AppleBacklightInjector.kext DisableTurboBoostBattery.kext No output device is detected in OS X. I then tried copying over the old files I used for 10.12 and added the ACPI patch for HDEF (I'm not sure if needed but was in my old config.plist),again no output device.I've since played around with different KEXT's and config.plist's but can't get any output device to show.I've now taken my OS X install back to stock AppleHDA.kext, repaired permissions etc and just using the files from Optimus.zip.What is the best way for me to get audio working from stock ? With regards to USB, I've applied the patches and deleted GenericUSBXHCI from my EFI partition, but again only the corner USB port is recognised. Here are my ACPI patches and Kernel Patches Thanks again. Moderators Jake Lo Posted November 22, 2017 Moderators Share Posted November 22, 2017 You need to disable the old patch and enable the new port limit patch (last on the list), not the other way around. Same for audio patches, they both are disabled, can't expect audio to work with them disabled.

I have now enabled and disabled the relevant patches as below, but still no sound or USB.
