tanphu194
So my machine updated to 10.13.6 and I started to get static/noise from headphone jack (anyway, anything to fix this?) and I had Time Machine so I decided to boot into Recovery and back it up without backing up the EFI partition (didn't know that, I thought everything is backed up) and then I canceled the restore midway. Now apparently TM erased my whole macOS SSD and I do not see it anymore. How do I get it back to work? Thank you.
Administrators Hervé Posted July 21, 2018 Administrators Share Posted July 21, 2018 Cancelling the restoration midway sure wasn't the brightest idea... Make a fresh install and once done, restore your TM backup from macOS. You don't need to worry about the EFI partition, it's not as if you modified it anyway... tanphu194
So in the future I can restore as if it’s a regular Mac? Also, regarding the static/noise problem will updating lilu.kext work?
Administrators Bronxteck Posted July 21, 2018 Administrators Share Posted July 21, 2018 sometimes setting up a different kHz value in Midi Prefpane helps with noisy audio devices.
Moderators Jake Lo Posted July 21, 2018 Moderators Share Posted July 21, 2018 Make sure you have CodecCommander.kext in /L/E Did you repair permission and rebuild cache?
tanphu194
I had it before and it worked fine till 10.13.5. Reinstalling now. Maybe need to have an updated version of it.
tanphu194
Cannot boot from this installer, pretty sure I messed up the config.plist. Attached Clover for help. Thanks. I put latest Clover, Clover Configurator, lilu.kext, codeccommander.kext, and whatevergreen.kext in there. CLOVER.zip
tanphu194
Please disregard my previous post, used wrong instruction. But still can't get past the restriction sign. CLOVER.zip
Moderators Jake Lo Posted July 21, 2018 Moderators Share Posted July 21, 2018 Try this, replace into /EFI/Clover Remove the following from /EFI/Clover/drivers64UEFI AptioMemoryFix.efi (keep AptioMemoryFix-64.efi) EmuVariableUefi-64.efi OsxAptioFix2Drv-64.efi M4800_HS.zip
