E5450 - Mojave sound issue

Recommended Posts

Hi guys 0 successfully upgraded to Mojave on my Dell E5450 - update went smoothly however lost sound. Originally on the ALC293 however in a way to enable audio installed AppleALC with whatever green kext and disabled the patches in config plist however no luck.

Hoping I can get some help ?

You need to change the layout-id to 11 for HDEF and HDAU in the DSDT and disable the AppleHDA patches in Config file.

Here patched it for you, just replace these 2 files.

In the kext/Other folder, remove the following kexts:

  • EAPDFix
  • IntelGraphicsFixup

That should do it

Hi Jake - apologies only seeing this now. My notifications prefs were all over the place.

I actually posted again as there is a battery / power issue in this thread along with the debug files -

And by the way - now on ALC sound many thanks!!! Works a treat!

running a vmware macos isnt a big deal also no sound there in vmware is not related to this anyhow,

also kext patching and other things are not required in an vmware hackintosh
