seb43654
Hi, Now that I have lion running on my D630, I was wondering if there was any way to control the fan speeds and get accurate temp readings from the CPU and GPU? I saw coolbook, but thaught it was only for changing voltages of the CPU - am I wrong? Thanks, Seb
JawhnL5
Dear seb43654, Check out this thread relating to Dell Fan Control: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/204-dell-fan-control/ Cheers!
seb43654
Hi, Thanks for the link, I did look around the forums a bit but didn't find any posts on it. My D630 runs surprisingly cool, but it would be nice to give that fan control a test. Seb
Administrators Syonagar Posted June 27, 2012 Administrators Share Posted June 27, 2012 Dear seb, Have you tried istatpro? It comes with EDP 2.2. Cheers!
seb43654
Hi, Yes I install stat on all my systems anyway, never knew it came with EDP. It reports the HD temp correct but CPU is always around 20C to 30C with I don't think is true. Thanks, Seb
Administrators Syonagar Posted June 28, 2012 Administrators Share Posted June 28, 2012 Hi seb, You need to adjust the tjmax value in info.plist inside the intelcpumanagement.kext in /Extra. You can also confirm that this is the correct reading with coolbook. Cheers!

Thanks, Seb you probably need to set the tjmax value (default value is 0) in Info.plist for your fakesmc plugin for intel in E/E

hydo1
I have installed the kext and GUI listed in the second post but my cpu is still running very hot ~50 degrees before the fan kicks in to do anything about it. Also my cpu is showing up in about my mac as a 1.09 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo despite it actually being a 2.0 GHz. This is most likely because I cannot install EDP 3 (ineptitude probably). I have tried EDP 2.2 and that just creates loads of kernel panics and I end up reinstalling.
