James Vreeken
Hi! I mixed up some DSDT, SSDT, chameleon plist, SMBIOS, and finaly get internal screen working after boot But! Since the USB3 ports do not work I use GenericUSB....kext, but dont work. Can you not send a good ACPI kext and DSDT for me? For usb3 delete / put in a folder: IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext & IOUSBFamily.kext And use the one below instead: http://www.mastermindesigns.com/mastermindesigns/images/latitude-e6430/GenericUSBXHCI.kext.zip Here is the source I got it from: https://code.google.com/p/os-x-generic-usb3/downloads/list Which works good for me and is smaller than the other one that is floating around the e6430 posts. I am using a USB 3 to HDMI adaptor and it works great! See screenshot below: Here is the link to the one I got: http://www.amazon.com/Plugable-Multiple-2048x1152-1920x1200-DisplayLink/dp/B007L6NYAO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1370878784&sr=8-1&keywords=plugable+usb+3+hdmi And the USB 3 Display link driver for it for os x: http://www.displaylink.com/support/mac_downloads.php A picture of my workstation in use:
osxjeff
So, the upgrade to the wireless card was literally a snap. The model I ordered cost like $8 and came in a week. Does anyone have bluetooth working? Other than that, mine is working like a champ. --Jeff

ipizwang
Hello gurus, With my installation of OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.3, the system doesn't go sleep mode when the lid is closed. To sleep, it has to be commanded manually from Apple -> Sleep. And it does sleep well that way. For wake him up, the power button has to be pressed. Do you have the same phenomenons with no sleep at lid close? Thanks, -- nw
DraKuL71
Thanks James. Fry's here I come! The Bluetooth module that's built in to the e6430 does work for me. I did have to delete the "stock" IOBluetoothFamily.kext from S/L/E and replace it with the one in this thread: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/2401-install-on-dell-latitude-e6530/&do=findComment&comment=18840 I placed it in E/E, ran MyFix and it worked like a charm. macrules
That card is a BCM943228HM4L and is not supported, you will need to use a compatible card. Try a Dell 1510 (or search using PW934 - same card, but often found cheaper this way). A quick eBay (US) search shows them as cheap as $4.75 with shipping. you can also try DW1490 and DW1390, both have broadcom chips that work too. ktbos
I was finally able to get my laptop, hdmi, and docking station all working. Now here is where I finally got things working. http://iFail.me/forum/viewtopic.php?f=77&t=23300 Download that FrameBuffer.kext and install it in /Extra Now, your lcd should work. Attach the laptop to the docking station, and there is one last trick to follow: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3131 At last, I closed my lid on my laptop, and sat down at my desk top! I had a hard go at this, I hope it works out for someone else. --Jeff Jeff, I've got the same hardware as you (also HD4000 only) and have been able to set up my system with most things working now. I've even improved on the AppleHDA so the controls stay in sync. (See the thread for my E6430 for audio and video details.) But one thing I can't get to work is the docking/undocking. When I dock, I get the additional display but closing the lid never takes away the internal one. Likewise with undocking, I lose the external display (duh!) but the internal one never comes back. Looking through the link you gave to Apple's site, there doesn't appear to be any magic there - just dock and close the lid and it will work is what it seems to say. But it doesn't for me. Any additional suggestions you can think of? Anything else you did that may have helped? Thanks!
