tbroadwater2010
I have been using the myHack software to try to load mavericks on my Dell Latitude 530s. I have checked the bios settings and found out there is no ACHI mode, so i could not set that. The installer loads up fine and seems to be ready to install but only shows my flash drive after being connected. What should i do to fix the problem. Darvinko
You can try adding a patched IOATAFamily.kext or an AppleIntelPIIXATA2.kext into your installer's Extra and see if that allows your hard drive to be seen for set up.
Administrators Hervé Posted December 12, 2013 Administrators Share Posted December 12, 2013 Set your HDD mode to RAID, that should do it. Failing that, head over to biosmods.com where I think there is a modded BIOS that supports activation of the AHCI mode only (it's very similar to Vostro 200). Please note that installation of OS X on the 530 has been very well covered on IM where you can find a good DSDT table.

Do you have a link to where i can get these files?
Administrators Hervé Posted December 12, 2013 Administrators Share Posted December 12, 2013 I don't think those files would help much; from what I had gathered on IM, it's an issue with the HDD declaration in the DSDT table. Try the attached table, it's a known good working one from LatinMcG, a well-known Hackintosher and DSDT/BIOS specialist on IM and various other forums (I even use his 530s table on my Vostro 200 as it gets it to wake properly!!!):dsdts530.zip For other various info, read this thread. Administrators Hervé Posted December 12, 2013 Administrators Share Posted December 12, 2013 No, no, no, it's a DSDT table I attached, not a modified BIOS. If you want a modded BIOS, look at the Award mods at bios-mods.com.

Administrators Hervé Posted December 12, 2013 Administrators Share Posted December 12, 2013 You place it in the /Extra/Extensions folder of your myHack USB installer with filename "dsdt.aml". That'll load by default. Please note that the Inspiron 530/530s is more or less identical to the Vostro 200 desktop, so don't hesitate to refer to our Vostro 200 Guide to install OS X on your machine.
