Moderators Jake Lo Posted September 11, 2015 Moderators Share Posted September 11, 2015 Googling your model shows up with Synaptics. You could try rehab man's latest version or Dinesh's version. Try ACPIBatteryManager.kext for Battery, although you might have patch DSDT.
Trunyce
Thanks for the info Jake but wouldn't I need to be running windows in order for me to know what manufacture the synaptics are made by? Also, i'm not using any DSDT right now, so I'm a bit hesitant on trying out the ACPIBatteryManager.kext.
Moderators Jake Lo Posted September 11, 2015 Moderators Share Posted September 11, 2015 Synaptics is the manufacturer. Installing ACPIBatteryManager won't break your system, worst it can happen is no battery status.
Trunyce
I installed the ACPIBatteryManager kext and it didn't do anything. I even had it originally from the previous install and no battery was showing. I tried other touchpad kexts and none worked either.
Moderators Jake Lo Posted September 12, 2015 Moderators Share Posted September 12, 2015 You'll need to patch your DSDT for Battery.
Trunyce
This is where my knowledge is limited. I'm not even using a DSDT at the moment, but I'd love to get that sorted sooner than later. I also purchased the wifi card but have yet to install it due to my busy schedule.
Trunyce
I'm going to start from scratch again with the installation because I really want to learn something with this machine. One thing I noticed though was after i installed the wifi card, it gave me an error saying that the bios was blocking it and I could start the pc normally until i removed the wifi card. Is there a way around that?
Administrators Bronxteck Posted October 10, 2015 Administrators Share Posted October 10, 2015 that means your bios has a whitelist on wifi cards. it will only allow specific wifi cards to be used. you can check to see if hp has made a new bios that allows for other wifi cards to be used read the change logs for the bioses at hp's download section. your other option is to try the card in another slot if you have one or get a compatible card that is allowed in your bios and works in OS X.
