  1. Thanks. I created a ML installer, removed the NVRAM module and I'm rocking it. BUT -- I had disabled the wi-fi in BIOS. After I installed, I swapped out the Intel card with a broadcom card from my working 620 hackintosh. Re-enabled wifi in BIOS, but no love in the OS. I reran the EDP but no love there either. Tips?

Did you try to open up the Network Preference Panel and click on '+' button at the bottom of the window to add the card manually? Does it register in the System Profile (the card should be listed in PCI & Network)?

  2. No, a pre-r2169 Cham bootloader + FileNVRAM.dylib module "just" prevents boot-up. It has no effect on kexts in /E/E or on the boot flags.

That verbose boot could be a side affect of multiple OS X partitions on a drive where the 1st partition boot plist takes precedence...

  3. Hmm, some people reported trouble with the nVidia 140m, but we never got to the bottom of the problems. Others had no issue at all...

I'd say your installer is dodgy not to say totally f***ed up! Sorry for asking, but did you create your installer according to our procedure (myHack + retail OS X version + D830 nVidia bootpack)? Did you use a Virtual Machine to create your installer? I never had any issue myself (and I've done a few ML installations on D830s now), but the D830s were all nVidia 135m based and I never used a virtual machine for my installer.

The only option I've used to avoid BT/keyboard issues was: USBBusFix=No.

  4. You just don't know what you're talking about...

EDP has been updated with one of the latest Chameleon fixes in order to sort out the (infamous) iMessage problem following Apple's recent changes. There is now a NVRam Chameleon module in /Extra/modules which requires to update the bootloader to v2.1 r2169 or higher. Latest EDP v4 does that.

So, if you have not updated your Chameleon bootloader (you can either update online or copy the 'boot' file from /Extra/storage to HDD root), do it, or remove that NVram module from /Extra/modules.

You'll then be able to boot normally.

That has already been mentioned on the forum.

This being said, if you were running/using EDP v1.9.2, you're quite far behind now and have not obviously followed the development for a good year or so. Sorry we did not wait for you... EDP is now up to v4!

You need to re-install your full EDP package (not update it) and start from there.

  5. Congrats, you've now followed the myHack/EDP procedure and got yourself a Hackintosh!

Disabling wifi in the BIOS is not necessary when you have a supported card. Again, you might not need the patched IO80211Family kext, depending on your card model. But, until you tell us what it is, we'll never know.

  6. You're free to do as you wish naturally (it's your install / re-install), but that's not what I would recommend:

    1) combo update

    2) re-run EDP kext installation

    3) reboot into updated Lion

There's probably been too many guides on this model. Just stick to the EDP procedure as explained in the EDP pages of the OSXL web site.

  7. i thin you mean this section:

    ethernet:

      Type: Ethernet Controller

      Bus: PCI

      Vendor ID: 0x14e4

      Device ID: 0x1673

      Subsystem Vendor ID: 0x1028

      Subsystem ID: 0x01f9

      Revision ID: 0x0002

      Link Width: x1

      BSD name: en0

      Kext name: BCM5722D.kext

      Location: /System/Library/Extensions/myHack.kext/Contents/PlugIns/BCM5722D.kext

      Version: 1111

in the configuration screen its says no cable connected, sure it is :P

That's the LAN card. We all know the model on the D630.

I meant the info for the Wireless card! Until we find out the model and ascertain the kext that supports it, you could stay in the dark... Maybe you don't need the patched IO80211Family kext at all.

myFix repairs file permissions (ownership + Read/Write/Exec attributes) and renews Kernel/kext cache. Since you said your LAN had worked before but no longer was, I simply concluded that there was a possibility of a need for myFix.

If IO80211Family is indeed required, you'll always need to use it and possibly port it at system upgrades. Regarding Lion update, do not update via Apple Menu -> Sotfware update or you'll screw up your installation. Download and install the 10.7.5 combo update off Apple website and, before reboot, re-run EDP kext installation.

Read-up past threads, it's all out there.
