hi I updated to 10.6.8 and these are my finding so far: display always reverts to lowest brightness setting at boot although I move the brightness slider to max in system preferences Cannot switch off fan with fn+Z as I could do b4 Fan seems to be running all the time system boots up as quick as it did b4 A little update I managed to get sleep enabler and null cpunmanagment kexts working for 10.6.8 You need to change in applebootlist pmVersion=23 otherwise you will have kernel panic sleepenabler found here http://blog.nawcom.com/SleepEnabler.kext.10.6.8.zip null cpumanagment kext is the same as 10.6.7

Yes I get that too so you have to fiddle with volume and also equaliser to get a good output good luck

Nope I have not tried it anyway trial is fully functional for 7 days so when you have a mo you can try and see if it works for you...

I installed soundflower but in my case dont know y it wont install properly I get you dont have permission to open folder and even If I change permission no sound coming at all weird...... Parallel do you mean appl to run windows on osx??? If yes I have not installed it....

Well I give this app thumbs up It increase system sound It has an equaliser with preset modes and also you can create your own preset Now when I play music from youtube I actually have to turn volume down 7 bucks well spent

Any way I tried them all result ; still using Slice one Ohers, Daniels and BrontecKs ones some times working ok other times jumpy and slow I think not good for D430.........

Thanks maybe a better solution would be a usb sound card for mac at least for mic input I actually have one which worked in leo I ll give it a try. I noticed that mic input does not work on d430 when i plug in a mic in still sound comes from embedded mic....

Hi I am quite happy with d430 which I bought a months ago The only thing that cannot get right and I tried different vooodo hda is when I use skype I get a lot of interference when talking like a whistling sound to be more exact it sound like a cappucino maker the sound of the steam when you want to froth milk up. If I use voodohda from edp it is very bad because I cannot change volume from voodoo pref pane ,with Slices one it is a bit better but I have to turn down recording level in pref pane but still back ground noise,,,,, A shame really laptop is cool but if sound is no good is not worth having mac on it. something very similar happend to me a few years ago with an Amilo laptop 8210 with leo on it. Perfect except sound in the end I had to sell it....... I was playing the other day with tortuga hda patcher for Leo. I managed to patch Snow leopard hda but no joy on -v boot you could see all error messg about not loading Applehda Any suggestion for the mic??????

Ok my results from my test Brontecks pskext post 4 no go....even if I put tracking speed to maximum so slow and jumpy Daniels good but even if I untick horizontal scolling still does it Slices one better feel but no horinzotal scrolling and if I right click anything cannot scroll any text unless I hold mouse button PS very strange I reinstalled Daniels one but now is gone crazy windows are opening all the time dont know what happened then

Hi I keep getting these messg when I boot with Slice ps controller kext localhost kernel[0]: ApplePS2Controller: Timed out on mouse input stream at readDataPort. Message repeat itself quite e few times during boot Is anyone else having this problem???? My laptop is d430

A question doesn't external mic work???? In my case I can only see built in working and when I plug in external I see no difference.......
