  1. -v (verbose mode) shows where it's hanging but you might be having an issue when you are copying extra over. edp install edp to the usb instead... when running the install pkg it has a choice of what drive to install edp too. install it to the usb drive, when it finishes installing it will open a terminal window. dont use that window hit q and quit it, then open finder go to the extra folder that edp installed and run edptool from there. build for you machine as previously we talked about. also do the same for chameleon. install it to the usb drive only thing though is that you have to format the usb drive to guide like the mac partition beforehand. after all is said and done put the cd in and then reboot with cd and usb drive hopefully it will show the install cd.... if this does not work lizard app has an option to make a bootdisk cd you drag all your extesion folder and boot.plist and smbios and dsdt, drag it over to the black lizard app window it will make an iso on your desktop. burn the iso to cd or if you have an app that can burn an iso to a usb. and boot off that swap cd's if you chose that method and hopefully it will detect install disk if not try f5 or f10
  2. well it doesn't look like it's going to get any better in the next update release either 10.6.8
  3. you probably need to install chameleon again as it probably got wiped... and it sound like your image might be compromised. if anything get a thumb drive install chameleon to it. the latest version you can get your hands on. install edp 1.8 to the thumbdrive, build for your machine. put your install cd in cd rom. boot from the usb stick and choose the osx install disk. if it does not show in chameleon then press f10 or hit a button to stop the timer. try installing osx that way.
  4. wow... i had to read it twice... lol. some odd things you go going there. ok from 10.6.0 to 10.6.7 you use combo update, after update finishes install and use edp 1.8. run edp and build for d620-nvidia i think its option 5 (there are 2 d620 versions the other is intel graphics which is 4) when building. leave out as many options as you can for testing purposes like powerpack and pcmcia then reboot. this is if you still have a image of a working 10.6 install.
  5. just in case... putting kexts in Extra/Extensions will not load them automatically you have to run edp with option-1 then option-a it will rebuild your mkext file and catches... then the os will respond to your added kexts in e/e....
  6. nope no kp on boot because of voodoohda.
  7. well have you tried deleting it from network prefpane save changes rebooting then add it back?
  8. then try putting a ip adress manually and use it that way.
  9. if you want wifi to work properly you must replace it with a known working wifi card check wiki.... intel driver you are referring to is not capable of encryption... but if you want some literature... check out http://code.google.com/p/iwidarwin/ . I have no idea what the outcome will be if you use the drivers they have.
  10. Intel Wifi not supported.... as for lan check your bios device setting and see if your network card is enabled
  11. well basically instead of having modified dsdt in extra it's hexedited and inserted into the dell bios... alot of the Little quirks your having are related to dsdt... they all can use a little refinement
  12. yeah its a known trackpad bug referred to as lucky 7's i think it's documented somewhere on the site or wiki... try another trackpad kext
  13. are you formatting the drive before installation? it needs to be guid partition scheme with hfs journaling
  14. check in bios under power management and look for usb reference... play with that see if results change
  15. check here for latest chameleon boot loaders... it's usually compiled the next day from trunk changes
  16. bad kernel catch most likely and the kp caused a rebuild
  17. "We were unable to determine your charger" i have never seen that screen... is it in bios boot or in osx? dell chargers have a chip that puts out a pulse like a "rf id" wich lets the laptop know it's from dell they tend to go bad... some people have modd'ed the Power supply and placed the chip inside the laptop instead... i have never done the mod.
  18. Lol... that warning is for a bonefied apple macintosh... it will be fine on a dell D830... try the one in wiki the link is on the top of page. chameleon 2 RC5 rev.655 or higher as of today the highest revision is at rev.820. that should get you booting from your hdd instead of thumb drive.
  19. did you extract your dsdt and put it in extra folder? check the wiki for instructions
  20. yeah there is an app called chameleon... you need to install it... you can check our wiki.
  21. did you check in bios for usb maybe need to turn on legacy...
  22. check in kexts section of forum there should be a d630 audio kext
  23. check the wiki... it should be there.
  24. your going to to run with -v chameleon option to see where it hangs
