  1. So I gave that a shot, still the same issue. However I've been keeping on eye on things and it appears it could be Sophos Home Anti-Virus that is causing the freezing. The delay lasts approx 45 seconds, where the mouse intermittently freezes but I noticed that during that time Sophos is checking for updates. Once the Sophos symbol becomes visible (meaning it has finished checking for updates) the mouse begins to work normally. It's really not a big deal though because after the first minute it works beautifully. Much better then before. Those Lilu kexts help a great deal for sure.
  2. Yes 2 of those IntelGraphicsFixup and Shiki but there is a third called Lilu which I don't see. However those are the ones.
  3. While trying to fix my new mouse freezing issue on 10.12.4, I spotted a fix for the site freezing and trailer freezing issues that many with HD4400 were having issues with. You need to install these 3 kexts. Installed them inside clover/efi/kexts/others folder. I tested and twitter doesn't lock up anymore, nor the when visiting macworld.com Can I post the link to the thread discussion from another site? It's off the TMac site. Computer definitely working better but doesn't help with the new issues after upgrading to 10.12.4 (mouse freezing for first minute ) But for HD4400 definitely notice a difference.
  4. Hey guys, well just finished updating to 10.12.4 on my other Dell, the Inspiron 3542 and unlike the Latitude e6420 the update worked and installed without issues. However I've noticed a few issues. The Apple loading bar appears fully loaded right from the start and the screen flashes 3 times before OS appears. Once loaded I start to move the mouse and it freezes up, tried with an external mouse and it also freezes up, so I don't think it has anything to do with the VoodooPS2. After about a min or so the mouse begins to work without freezing. Wasn't having this issue with 10.12.3. Not really a big deal because this is really my backup PC but still curious to find out why this might be happening and if others are also experiencing similar issues. Any clue as to what could be causing this? I'm thinking maybe the graphic kexts or something in the config.plist might need a new entry or change?
  5. Ok that was pretty quick. Ran the downloaded update .dmg instead of the App store version and up and running. Wow definitely notice an improvement, not that things were slow before. Things feel a bit zippier now. Did a bit more testing and all is well. Downloading the update directly does the trick. I think you guys can mark this one as solved Thanks again for all the suggestions.
  6. No but I do have a few kexts like CPUSensors.kext that I believe was installed by HWMonitor (will double check) and Soundflower.kext. Next time I start testing I will definitely keep the kexts to the bare minimum and then start reinstalling or replacing into the Extensions folder (either inside Clover or Library/Extensions one boot at a time. I don't have anything installed into /System/Library/Extensions only the default kexts. I had removed that kext when I had upgraded from EL Capitan to Sierra back in the fall. Thanks for the input though.
  7. I'm just finishing off a work project today, once I'm done I'm going to try the update through the download rather then the app store and get custom kexts out of library/extension just like you mentioned earlier. I have 6 kexts in there, two for sound and are part of my anti-virus suite (hmmm maybe those are the ones causing the issues) I'll post my results this weekend. Thanks for the continued support Jake Lo and Bronxteck.
  8. Hi jake Lo, just wondering I have the 6420, but haven't been able to get to the second stage of the update process. Last clover version I tried was 3051. Do you think it might have something to do with the extra kexts I have installed inside of /Library/extensions/ I was just thinking about that this morning. I was thinking of maybe deleting that folders entriely and then taking the update? Any thoughts? Thanks
  9. Unfortunately just tested and same result Bronxteck. Going to try again with r4035 because somehow someway it did work once. Problem is I have no clue as to why it did lol? And it only worked once. So strange.
  10. Ok thanks Bronxteck, I'll try it tomorrow as I just reverted back to 10.12.3 last night and I actually have some work that needs to get done today I'll let you know tomorrow how it went.
  11. Ah ok. thanks. Strange thing is that somehow yesterday with Clover 4035 it eventually booted once and finished installing but nothing worked except for google chrome (all apps were broken). So I reverted back to 10.12.3 and then decided to try again with the newer clover and nothing. I even tried to try to get it to boot with the same Clover as yesterday but nothing. I can't get it to show the second stage install. So strange. Ok I think then tonight I'll just revert back to 10.12.3 again tonight. I'll look into that IM Clover thread too. Thanks Bronxteck
  12. Hi guys, I updated Clover to 4049 this morning and tried to upgrade my Dell e6420 to 10.12.4 The installation seems to have installed (at least the first phase) Then it reboots and it begins loading again but the screen stays blank after the Apple logo loads. The backlight is on as its a bright black but the screen never comes back on to finish stage two of the upgrade. Does the config from 10.12.3 need to be updated too? Or maybe FakeSMC.kext? I'm stumped. Anyone else having the issue? From the looks of it, it doesn't seem like that.
  13. Just noticed the thread. Just wondering Ami, did you upgrade from a previous version (el capitan or yosemite) I had the same problem and apparently what happened to me was that on El Capitan I was using a patched AppleHDA.kext and it was installed in S/L/E but once I upgraded to Sierra for some reason that kext was not updated and as such I didn't have the Vanilla AppleHDA.kext. So I deleted that file and retook the upgrade again. This time since there was no AppleHDA it reintalled a fresh vanilla one. Sound worked perfectly then with Jake Lo's and Herve's reccomendations. So maybe that is the reason you're having issues. Not sure though.
  14. glebanych, havent been on the forum is sometime. Are you sure you have the ALC255? Also did you patch your DDST.aml and make sure your codec layout id matches that on the patch. I had to change my layout ID from 12 to 3 for the Audio patch to work properly, I believe (but can't remember for certain) You're computer is different though so you should probably start your own thread for it. VoodooHDA is ok but I don't think you can get HDMI audio with that. I could be wrong though.
  15. Unfortunately no difference. Its ok though. I'll stick to the UK version. It works fine and I'll just use Chrome for the offending sites.
  16. Ok thanks Bronxtech, worth a shot. Never had the problem though when I was on previous OS's Yosemite. Used to visit all the time. I noticed the comment says isolate HD4600 but I have 4400HD would the patch be good to apply?
  17. Hi guys, just wondering if anyone else has been experiencing this. When I visit http://www.macworld.com/category/macs/ and a few others I sites, my computer freezes up and completely powers off? It's bizzare to say the least. Not doing it on my Latitude, just the inspiron. Trying to figure out what could be causing the issue. But cannot figure out because I don't see the crash reported in console.
  18. Have you given Clover Configurator a shot? Maybe give that a shot and see if that gives you the same error. One thing I've found was that when I tried to install Clover to my EFI partition it would always install into the folder on the root of the drive. So using Clover configurator I would mount the EFI and the copy the EFI folder into it, obviously modifying the contents with the proper ACPI patches, kexts and config.plist and removing all other folders inside Kext folder except for the "others" folder, where all my kexts needed are placed.
  19. Ok so the Rehabman VoodooPS2Controller.kext is definitely the best one for the Dell 3542 on Sierra. Works perfectly along with Karabiner Elements. I think we can place [solved] on this one too Thanks to everyone who helped out.
  20. Jake Lo just out of curiosity, what version of VoodooPS2 are you using currenlty for your Latitude? I'm still using Release 4 RC4. I know the doc has has come out with newer versions. Have you tried out Release 5 at all?
  21. Yup just as I had thought Jake Lo. I have tried this one, brightness keys are still the same but when I select the keyboard and choose ANSI North America it allows me to type the tilde character when I hold shift down, which is correct. So then I thought why not try your .json file now with Karabiner Elements. So I did and everything is working including brightness keys, only thing is i need to have the FN key down with the keys. So i just simply decided to change the bios settings from Multimedia to Function and everything works. No need to use the FN key. I think as long as i don't notice it freezing up, this will be the kext I use. I'll post my testing results later on tonight.
  22. Hi Jake Lo, hmmm I believe I tried this one just before the Elan one. Think it was causing my computer to freeze up, but I'll experiment with it again. Why not Thanks Jake Lo. I'll post later on today after a full days use and let everyone know how its going. That way if others have the same issues they can see the posting and not have to ask again.
