  1. Just wondering will the updated VoodooPS2Controller.kext also repair the brightness and volume keys?
  2. Hmmm I'm just in the process of making a new usb with the latest clover. I will probably try to upgrade tonight, since I already backed up my system and if things dont go well I'll just switch back. Ok thanks for letting me know. Ill post here if I get my system up and running. I tried to upgrade once already yesterday but I realized something wrong with my usb and that maybe why it wasn't booting.
  3. Just curious becauee I have the same computer, what did you upgrade from El Capital 10.11.6 ? Or an earlier version. Because I believe the audio issues stems back from 10.11.3 and there was a fix for that using AppleHDAIDT.kext Hopefully some of the pros can shed some light on the upgrade soon.
  4. Thx for your input as well Gia. I actually didn't need to update to Clover 3292. Although I made another USB key with version 3292, just in case I couldn't boot with 3280. But overall, all went smoothly.
  5. Ok thanks for the heads up Jake Lo I should still be able to use my current config.plist correct ? Or do I need to add entries into it? Thanks again for your quick input Jake Lo
  6. Hi guys, just wondering is it safe to take the update from 10.11 to 10.11.1? I'm using Clover 3280. I'm pretty sure it is, but I just wanted to be 100% sure. Thanks
  7. Tried patching the existing DSDT included in the zip file for the e6420 but it didn't work, went back to VoodooHDA. I actually thought I had HDMI audio working but I didn't, so I will start reading the forums to see how that can be fixed. Jake Lo, just wondering when your on FaceTime does the video screen of FaceTime act up with flashes of colour and picture freezing/repeating, kind of like a animated Gif?
  8. Ok thx Jake Lo, yes thats exactly what happened to me, it just hangs. Ok I'll try Legacy then. I had one last question regarding the P and C states in the config.plist. Should those be set to "False" since I'm using the supplied patched SDST or left as "true"? ***Also I think I may have figured out why my webcam works for some apps and not for others*** Have a feeling it might be the VoodooHDA. Going to try and see if patching AppleHDA will stop it from happening. If there are any changes then I will post. Thx again my friend.
  9. My Bios only allows me to select UEFI or Legacy devices but not together. MY Clover settings: Install for UEFI Booting Only Install Clover in ESP (auto checks that) when I select the above. in Themes I chose "BlueMac" Drivers64Uefi -> EmuVariableUefi-64, OSXAptionFixDRV-64 and install RC scripts on target volume. Hmmm maybe these settings are incorrect?
  10. Thats what I thought because I have another Dell that has that option, unfortunately this one does not. I'm on the newest version A21 too, but no option. Very strange indeed.
  11. No I don't believe so Jake Lo. I don't see that setting available on Clover. Or is that the setting I need to set in the bios? Thanks again this site is awesome.
  12. Thx Jake Lo removing new way worked perfectly. So what does "New Way" actually implement via clover? Two small issues remaining to repair. My WebCam only works properly when using Skype and I can't seem to boot without the USB stick. I must mention I installed Clover in the UEFI way and I'm dual booting with Windows 7. I tried the Legacy way and unfortunately it broke my Windows and had to re-install everything again plus it still wouldn't boot up. If you have any suggestions for me that would be great. If not I still greatly appreciated the help. My biggest issue was the battery status and I'm thrilled it works now.
  13. OK thank you Jake Lo, I'll give it a shot when I get home later on. I have been using a different config though, a more generic one made for the HD3000 as the config in the zip files gives me only black screen after selecting my OS drive in Clover. I'll let you know how it goes. Thx again.
  14. Hello Jake Lo, this is my first posting on this forum. I just wanted to know if you could help me put the final touches on my e6420 i5 2540m. I used the guide mentioned above and its working pretty well, except battery status(which from what I have heard doesn't work anymore) and Webcam for some reason doesn't work properly. It turns on then starts flashing. I have extracted my own DSDT's and SDST's that I would like to patch. I'm just not sure what patches too apply to my DSDT and SDST (found the same SDST used in the zip, which for me was SDST-3). So I just basically want to add all the same patches plus add another battery patch that I found and see if that would fix the issues. I already know how to patch, just not sure which patches I should use. Thanks.
