  3. Has anyone ever encountered or fixed an issue on some Dell notebook (internal) keyboard which cause the super (windows/command) key to not function properly? I have experienced this on a handful of devices now and it's more than slightly frustrating. When I alter a key-press with command it just inserts foreign characters (ie Command-Q is œ, or Command-W is ∑ ). I have tried the PS/2 keyboard fix int he hopes that this would perhaps have some impact, but it does not. I also tried re-mapping the keys, swapping Command and Control. The effect was the same, but with the control key. I have experienced this issue with both the regular Dell notebook keyboard and the expanded full notebook keyboard (with 10-key pad). This issue does not happen with external USB keyboards. Touchpad and Joystick seem to work as expected.
  4. Hi, my name's Ken. This is my first post and I do have Mavericks working on my Samsung laptop but I'm having issues with my graphics. Here are my specs: Samsung Series 7 Chronos NP700Z5A-S01 Notebook PU Intel Core i7 2670QM @ 2.20GHz Sandy Bridge 32nm Technology RAM 8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz (9-9-9-24) Motherboard Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. 700Z3A/700Z4A/700Z5A/700Z5B (CPU) Graphics Generic PnP Monitor (1600x900@60Hz) Intel Mobile Intel HD Graphics (Samsung) 1024MB ATI AMD Radeon 6750M (Samsung) Storage 750GB Hitachi HTS727575A9E364 (SATA) 7GB SanDisk iSSD P4 8GB (SSD) Optical Drives MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ8A7AS Audio Intel Display Audio Realtek High Definition Audio The problem is the graphics are set at one resolution, 1024X768, but my notebooks native resolution is 1600X900. Right now it's using the stretch to screen option and although it doesn't look bad, it doesn't look all that good either. Ideally I'd like to use my Radeon 6750M card for the graphics but when I look at the system information it's using the Intel graphics card but it's rated at 64 megs of memory and this explains why I'm getting flickering effects on websites when I scroll up or down. I've tried using a kext but that did nothing and I've also used a smbios setting that matched the specs of this computer and while it did change things in the "About This Mac" settings it didn't change the resolution. I've also been reading on other forums about "direct injecting" for the graphics card and also about using ROMs but that seems kind of intimidating to me and there's also a chance I may mess things up as it involves hex numbers. I also briefly tried getting the Intel Mobile graphics to work with a kext but it messed up the screen, turned it grey and everything on screen was enlarged slightly and shifted to the right. Needless to say, after that I had to re-install Mavericks. I've got everything else working fine but the icing on the cake would be to get the proper resolution working for this notebook. Thanks in advance.
  5. Hello guys, I have a Toshiba NB500-100 and I couldn't manage to install ANY of the OS X Versions I tried with different USB-Sticks, and had problems since the beginning, - Snow Leopard did not boot, no chance to type anything into the BIOS. - On Mountain Lion and Mavericks: If I don't press any key, the Apple logo shows and stays like that. If I press a key and use either "-v" or "-x", a large log gets displayed too fast for me to keep up, and suddenly the screen turns black. Nothing more happens. Any help please? Thanks in advance.
