Hi there,

did anyone have a success in updating to Lion 10.7.4 on D630 with Intel Graphic X3100?

I have got issue first with VoodooHDA, after removing the kext I've started receiving errors related to AppleIntelGMAX3100.

Thanks.

so finally,

i have 10.7.4 on my dell630 nvidia 135@1440x900 T7700(2.4ghz) 3gb and bcm4311(wifi)

it works great, only shutdown is slow .

first i make a 8gb usb partition

then i installed epd 2.2 (kext for d630 nvidia) on stick + latest chameleon.

then i move lion retail dvd to stick with xfail

start from usb with -v

after installation i upgrade 10.7.4 combo but don't restart yet

install latest Chameleon+epd 2.2 op mac hd

then i installed appleACPIPlatform.kext (10.6.7) with kext helper b7

then restart once with -v

(need usb keyboard and mouse)

that's it

thanx osxlatitude.com

Dear peterW,

Good to hear that your system is up and running.

Dear jus,

You need to replace the AppleACPIPlatform.kext (look in the forum on this) and install EDP 3.

Cheers!

All,

My Dell D630 simply stops booting.

One moment it boots just fine and the next it keeps re-starting.

-v -f and -s do not work :$

I have checked if the Applehda.kext is in the Extensions folder this is not the case.

I did not update the system the last time it booted.

The time between the ok boot end the wrong boot was less then 5 minutes.

What can this be?

How can I solve this problem.

thanks for your help

Dear robertb,

Have you tried to repair permission with disk utility?

Cheers!

Dear Syonagar,

I have done the repair permissions by running the disk Util from a install DVD. like in the attached link

http://osxdaily.com/tag/repair-permissions/

It seems not to matter.

Any other ideas :$

Could my system be updated to 10.7.4.

thanks,

Is there a way to check with terminal what os version you are running when the os will not start?

thanks

Done the check in Terminal

cat SystemVersion.plist and it is still 10.7.3 :$

To keep you up to date.

I connected a external drive to the system as it was my idea to do a installation of Lion on a external drive.

In the boot screen I selected the Osx Lion that is on the internal drive and the system simply booted. :o

I'm now running the Permission on the drive. It is taking more time then it did in Terminal so probably terminal did not do the real job.

To be continued

Hi guys

Does anyone have a fully working dsdt file for a D630 low res nvidia laptop, it won't use the full res file as video vanishes just as it starts to load the desktop

i have been using the intel gfx dsdt file but shutdown doesn't work.

Cheerz
