Solomon_kingx
Are there any issues arising if one updates to Mac OS Sierra 10.12.4? thanks
Administrators Hervé Posted April 12, 2017 Administrators Share Posted April 12, 2017 None normally expected. Follow the usual/regular advise: if you do update, take a full backup or image of your current installation in case things do go wrong afterwards. mmktt
Hi again, I managed to install finally Sierra on e5430 non-vPro. First of all , previously I had made a USB installer from 10.12.4 (it was downloaded from App Store) and I had black screen with glitches. This time instead of using Sierra from App Store, I found on some torrent zip with version: 10.12 (16A323). This version I manage to install successfully. Graphics is working, but only on build-in display. On previous OSX (maverick 10.9.5) I had working everything. This time, display ports on dock station doesn't work (additional monitors), also my NIC card has Mac address 00:00:00:00:00:00 so is unusable. I downgraded BIOS to A11 PROCESSOR, IVB, I7-3540M Dell Wireless 380 Bluetooth Card 4.0 Ethernet is BCM 5761 can anyone help me run, display ports in graphic card and fix Mac address in NIC card? ILOVEMACOSONPC
I tried just transferring the EFI folder, replacing the one in the EFI mounted drive, but to no avail... would it be possible to list the steps for a noob? I have a Dell Latitude E5430 non vPro...
mmktt
Hi again, I manage to run almost all things. Bluetooth is working now, NIC card has proper MAC address instead of all zeroes. But still I have problem with graphic card. Problem is that i have only build in display working (1600x900) or only external display working (1920x1080) and glitch on build in. Ideally I want to have internal buildin display extended with two external displays. BIOS is still A11 Moreover I still in about Mac have information that CPU is i5 instead i7. I checked some DSDT.aml files from this topic and from bootpacks: E6530_HD4000_Only.zip DSDT.aml md5: 43898a7cd826d16675d4ef6903423768 -> start/restart/stop -> LONG, build display OK, external display - NONE, en0 ether OK E6230_A11.zip DSDT.aml md5: 5feb9edfcfc60f48d700c70f2e5667d6 -> start/restart/stop -> NORMAL, build display GLITCH, external display - OK, external display - NONE, , en0 ether 00:00:00:00:00:00 E6330_A11.zip DSDT.aml md5: fa24d96fad0f720d0c271dc7f0919119 -> start/restart/stop -> LONG, build display OK, external display - NONE, en0 ether 00:00:00:00:00:00 EFI.zip DSDT.aml md5: 86b5a55cc83978d6907108066f0ec43e -> start/restart/stop -> VERY LONG, build display OK, external display - NONE, en0 ether 00:00:00:00:00:00 E5430.zip DSDT.aml md5: 3328f9c9b0aef13a41db8f2661416261-> start/restart/stop -> VERY LONG, build display OK, external display - NONE, en0 ether 00:00:00:00:00:00 DSDT.zip DSDT.aml md5: 600209965029e7a173035ba5f4a12cbe -> start/restart/stop -> NORMAL, build display OK, external display - NONE, en0 ether 00:00:00:00:00:00 E5430_Sleep.zip DSDT.aml md5: b0cca43aa68065eaccd0cbd039717fbc -> start/restart/stop -> NORMAL, build display OK, external display - NONE, en0 ether 00:00:00:00:00:00 EFI.zip DSDT.aml md5: 838fd5604590e9528010a5ae6ad03bda -> start/restart/stop -> NORMAL, build display OK, external display - none, en0 ether 00:00:00:00:00:00 jkson_E5430.zip DSDT.aml md5: e7f2d7fc25d3b2b2b5eab2affb1dabc0 -> start/restart/stop -> FAST, build display OK, external display - none, en0 ether 00:00:00:00:00:00 E5430_jkson.zip DSDT.aml md5: 03345c21d9d4124b4b59fb6788c6b379 -> start/restart/stop -> NORMAL, build display OK, external display - none, en0 ether OK DSDT.aml.zip DSDT.aml md5: f68e2f16ad162d8ba12662b3105b9528 -> start/restart/stop -> FAST, build display OK, external display - none, en0 ether OK So it looks like I should have some “mix” of for example DSDT.aml.zip and E6230_A11.zip. Can anyone help me to run external displays (I have two connected to dock station through display ports). Best regards,
Administrators Hervé Posted May 9, 2017 Administrators Share Posted May 9, 2017 With HD4000 on a 1600x900 (or higher) built-in LCD, you must inject the following:1) Capri FB #4/layout-id 0x01660004 (as opposed to 0x01660003)2) DualLink set to 1 You can do that through DSDT patch of IGPU device located at 0x00020000 or through Clover config. Administrators Bronxteck Posted May 9, 2017 Administrators Share Posted May 9, 2017 if you can get your hands on clover 4064 or higher it might auto detect your graphics for you.
mmktt
Hi experts, thanks for tips. I think for displays crucial information is here: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/9601-e6430-1600x900-intel-hd4000-gpu/?p=67699 in this post you wrote, that DP are untested. in fact this is my case. I made changes in clover - to replace strings you posted, and for now I have two displays working - one build in and one external (via DP). Second external is not active - it is connected also through DP). Rest things rather are working (still I notice instability in en0 card MAC address - sometime it is fine, sometime it is set to zeroes) When I have powered on both external displays, only one is active, and when I turn it off, the let's say second "standby" starts to be "active". And there is no "preemption". How can I troubleshoot this? BR
