  1. do you have an Extra folder in your installer with smbios.plist of MBP 9.1 or MBA 5.2? Should have a minimum of kexts in /Extra/Extensions like FakeSMC.kext and NullCPUPowermanagement.kext?
  2. No need to reinstall, try booting with IntelCapriFB=3 -v -f
  3. ok, I think I also have this issue. steps to get it working again: launch kextwizard. select the Loaded tab, do a search for codec on the bottom when found, do a Reload. Sound should come back to the speaker. If the headphone is still not work, just put system to sleep and then wake it up. That's a workaround for now until I could get something better.
  4. No, that's just means you can boot without cache. Safe boot is -x. Remove nullCPUPowermanagement, you don't need that. Run myHack/myfix (quick) and reboot. Leave the myHack.kext alone.
  5. Not sure which version of Yosemite you're running, but download the 10.10.2 files. inside there's a new version of codecCommander 2.2.1 by the-Darkvoid. Install that to S/L/E. See if that helps.
  6. Boot in verbose mode to see where it's hanging -v -f Please also specify system's spec. CPU, GPU, display resolution...
  7. for Yosemite guide, see here. Bootpack on post #2 use Exx20 but replace dsdt with E5420
  8. download chameleon wizard. In the modules tab, install Resolution.dylib. This goes to /Extra/Modules
  9. What do you mean you can't boot? Does the chameleon loader load without the USB installer? Does it hang it??? Can you boot with -v -f without the usb installer?
  10. try removing /S/L/E/AppleHPET. Make a backup first
  11. Thanks for sharing. Does HDMI work too?
  12. Problem could be the distro you're using. Seems to be missing the graphics kexts and who knows what else. Why don't you just download Mavericks from Apple, it's free. Then you could follow these steps to create your own vanilla image and use the bootpack I supplied. All the necessary files are included in the bootpack and everything will work if use properly. For now, you could modify or.chameleon.boot.plist to the correct resolution and install all the kexts to /System/library/Extensions Graphics Mode 1366x768x32 to Graphics Mode 1600x900x32
  13. I'm assuming you're using myHack to create your installer? Extra-E6420_Mav.zip
  14. I guess you have not use our search option, there lots of guide for this model here. Here's one for Mavericks with Chameleon Here's one for Clover.
  15. yes, boot with the USB installer and then use the terminal run cp /Volumes//System/Library/Kernels/kernel /Volumes//System/Library/Kernels
  16. For reboot issue, you need to copy the patched kernel to the installed drive.
  17. See here. Bootpack on post #4 what error or where is it hanging when booting with -v -f?
  18. @Jack_77 follow the note at the end of post #2
  19. Yes, no issue so far. See here for updated files.
  20. Are you having artifacts issue with BIOS A13? Downgrade to A12 or A11
  21. 1) yes 7) When you launch Chameleon Wizard, it'll automatically open smbios.plst from the default location /Extra. Basically you want to generate a unique serial and not use the one from my bootpack To boot without the -v and -f flags, add /System/Library/Kernels/kernel to org.chameleon.boot.plist found in /Extra. Chameleon Wizard will launch it automatically. When you launch CW, click on the org.chameleon.boot.plist tap. On the bottom left, put a check on kernel and enter /System/Library/Kernels/kernel in the space below it. Save and reboot without the flags.
  22. Try files here but keep your DSDT/SSDT
  23. arghargh, To use HD3000, you need to have Optimus Enabled. DSDT-off_2ch.aml just means that it's patched to turn off Nvidia. I could name it whatever I like, it just easy for me to differentiate from the others. 2ch just means dualLink since you have resolution higher than 1366x768. No need to start over, just replace the DSDT and rename it, enable Optimus in BIOS and you're set. The Exx20 (Extra) already have the patched AppleIntelCPUManagement.kext in /Extra/Extensions/SLE. The guide stated, after installed and logged in: 1) Rename NullCPUPowermanagement.kext to NullCPUPowermanagement.bak ( will need to rename it back before any update to prevent KP) 2) Install all kexts in /Extra/Extensions/SLE to /System/Library/Extensions with kextwizard 3) Reboot
  24. Does the Yosemite Hdd shows as RAID with Lion Icon? If so, see troubleshooting from the guide.
  25. Yes, nullCPUPowermanagement is already in the bootpack. try booting with /System/Library/Kernels/kernel -v -f
