  1. Hmmm, the way you describe your issue lead me to believe that you might have a discrete card - Nvidia nvs5200m (Optimus). Please check your bios to verify. Also did you also include osxjeff's DSDT?
  2. cuppscakes, Take a look another member's Extra, he (osxjeff) seems to have things working. If you have a different processor, don't include the SSDT files. Just need the Extension folder, you could ignore the rest.
  3. Check out this article to change keys http://www.osxlatitude.com/use-a-pc-keyboard-with-your-hackintosh/ Sleep is working fine on my end. Make sure you don't have NullCPUPowerManagement.kext in EE and install patched AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext. You might have to fix permissions and update cache for the shutdown issue. Just re-run myHack/myfix to do all that. As for docking issue, do you have the dual dvi or dvi/vga port? You might have to use 1 dvi and 1 hdmi for dual monitor setup.
  4. Try going in SLE and delete AppleIntelHDGraphics and AppleIntelHDGraphicsFB if you see them. They usually get reinstall when you upgrade combo pack.
  5. Awesome, looks like you got everything up and running. Yes, run myHack each time you add/remove kext(s) from Extra folder, also fix some issue with shutdown too.
  6. If wifi no longer works (an immediate "Connection timed out" error) after upgrading to 10.8.4, replace the "airportd" file in "/usr/libexec" with this one, which is from 10.8.3, and reboot: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_id=2068 quote taken from bottom of this thread https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/1695-e6410-mountain-lion-guide/&do=findComment&comment=12072
  7. cuppscakes and everyone who has an Exx30 model with resolution 1600x900, My bootpack worked fine on my system with 1366x768 resolution and so was puzzled why it's not working for you guys. And then it dawned on me that everyone that has 1600x900 using my bootpack are having black screen issue. So I went and replaced my LCD to 1600x900. On first bootup, all I get is a blank screen, can't even see the BIOS post. I realized I had to replace the connector cable as well to detect the new hardware. Once that's done, Dell post comes on, Chameleon starts and then towards the end guess what, same black screen. So I poked around this forum and found that a few members had figured out that you have to patche AppleIntelFramebufferCapri to fix the issue. Now everything is working like before. I'll rebuild my bootpack and update the installation guide shortly. Stay tuned... Update: Guide is updated with new kexts and instructions
  8. Hi cuppscakes, Take a look at this guide, I updated the instruction to include systems with higher resolution than 1366x768 at the bottom. Please post your results. Good luck.
  9. ipizwang, Is it the same AppleIntelFramebufferCapri I uploaded or you have a different one? If different, can upload it so others can benefit it as well.
  10. casotv, The maximum module capacity per slot is 4gb for this model. ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_laptop/esuprt_latitude_laptop/latitude-e6410_setup%20guide_en-us.pdf
  11. Download and Extract file to E/E and run myFix. Reboot and update your result here. AppleIntelFramebufferCapri.kext.zip
  12. Do you have the same spec as azub too? Is your LCD resolution 1366x768 or higher?
  13. Assuming you're installing with myHack, then extract the file to E/E and then run myFix to fix permission and update cache.
  14. This is done from Windows Follow thread to format and create a menu.lst file http://www.themudcrab.com/acronis_grub4dos.php Add this to menu.lst using notepad title Ubuntu 13.04 i386 find --set-root /ubuntu-13.04-desktop-i386.iso map /ubuntu-13.04-desktop-i386.iso (0xff) || map --mem /ubuntu-13.04-desktop-i386.iso (0xff) map --hook root (0xff) kernel /casper/vmlinuz file=/cdrom/preseed/ubuntu.seed boot=casper iso-scan/filename=/ubuntu-13.04-desktop-i386.iso splash quiet -- initrd /casper/initrd.lz Make sure you include the Ubuntu iso file in the root, make sure the iso name and the text above matches ie. ubuntu-13.10-desktop-i386.iso
  15. Try this http://www.osx86.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=3745. I have not tried it on Lion as I'm only running Mountain Lion, but please report back your result. Edit: I don't believe Dell OptiPlex 745 model has USB 3.0 ports.
  16. Welcome SSierra, There are several threads here pertaining to getting this model to work. You will have to replace your wireless card as Intel wifi are unsupported. You can follow this thread with full instruction including bootpack. Even though it said it's for model E6430 with NVS5200m, it'll work perfectly for yours too. Just change the resolution to match yours in boot.plist. If the instruction is too vague, then you should read about the myHack process thoroughly (link included in the 1st thread). Enjoy.
  17. Sorry, unfortunately that has a newer chipset that's not supported.
  18. Did you use the Bootpack above? Boot with the option -v and post your error here.
  19. You could check out all the E series system in our EDP page. There is a lot as you can see.
  20. Just build a USB using your method and didn't have an issue. Personally I use grub4dos for multi-booting. Did you use the option Try Ubuntu without Install?
  21. Check and see if this works. http://www.osx86.net/view/3757-[new]_intel_hd_3000__hd_4000_10.8.3_ml_driver.html Edit: ben_beton, What's the resolution of the display? If it's higher than 1366x768, try this DSDT DSDT.aml.zip
  22. Sleep is not possible with the NVidia card NVS4200m thus far by anyone. As for speedstep, check out this article.
  23. b1k3rdude, Unfortunately that BCM4313 chip is not supported. Check out the tested card in R&D here. Atheros AR5B91 would seem to be the best one tested as it works OOB and sees as an Apple Airport Extreme
  24. Tried both version of GenericUSBXHCI 1.2.4, the latest version plus the version that's modified for Mavericks, neither work on 10.8.5 beta.
  25. See if this DSDT would make any difference DSDT.aml.zip
