Looks like video might not be loading? Which boot pack did you use on the myHack USB Installer? See if you could follow this thread, it'll work well using the attached boot pack.

Try attaching an external USB Keyboard to complete your installation. After that your onboard keyboard should work.

Hi bpedman, Thank you for continuing with your fine work. Just tested the merged version. It works as your current version 7. The trackstick still jump to the right after lifting it, it won't allow drag or expand windows. No scrolling with middle button and trackstick. It'll be great if this could be added in the future. The touchpad, from boot up, takes a little of more pressure to move, but after changing the Finger Z value, it moves a lot more smoothly, but like your version, it still won't save the settings after reboot. Hopefully between you two, this issue will be fixed and be the new kext for all alps and synaptics mice. By the way, I'm using this on Mavericks DP7.

This modded kext was for an E6530 with OSX 10.8.2. It's working just as you described above on my E6x30 series with IDT 92HD93. I don't have the details as to what was done, as mod was done by one of the developer here. org.rehabman.voodoo.driver.Daemon.plist doesn't exist in bpedman's download. Had to get it from RehabMan's voodoops2Controller package. Copied it to /Library/LaunchDaemons and repair permission, rebooted, changed preference settings, reboot, same result. Still won't save settings.

In that case, you'll have to locate all PS2 controller kext you currently using, rename it or delete it. Rebuild cache and permission with kext wizard or whatever you use. I recommend you use myHack for the build as it keeps S/L/E clean and manageable.

Gary, If you build using the myHack method, you should put the kext in E/E, the 2 exe in /usr/bin/ and the preferencepane in /Library/PreferencePanes. Delete or move to another directory AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext and your PS2 kext. Run myHack/myfix/full and reboot.

I don't have a built-in bluetooth, but from my bootpack, there's an option folder that contains the bluetooth kext, it's working for others from this forum. The card reader kext voodooSDHC has an issue when coming back from sleep and will cause an initialize error you noted above, I've tried changing the deviceID, but it only allow me to read the SD card but error won't go away. Since I don't use the reader much, I don't include it. Will have to test other kext when I have more time, but it's not a priority for me. For the touchpad, the latest version 7 will work but you have to set the preference after each reboot. For some reason it doesn't save the settings, the developer have not come back with a solution yet. With that kext, you'll be able to scroll with the trackpad. 2 finger scrolling hadn't work for me, perhaps need more tweaking with preference pane. I don't use the trackpad for scrolling as much as I do with the trackstick. With that kext, trackstick scrolling is not possible and you lose the ability to drag as well. If you use the trackstick more like I do, I would recommend sticking with the current kext and install smartscroll. You can scroll with the trackstick with the middle button like you would on Windows with this freeware. Audio should work with the modded AppleHDA. It's not perfect, but HDMI Audio works as well with this kext. When you remove the display patch from the DSDT, did you remove anything else? Were you able to recompile it successfully after removing the patch? Oh yes, the DW1510 wireless card will work OOB, it will detect as a third-party wireless device. If you want to rebrand it to an airport extreme card, follow this article. The one from Dell is most likely an Intel wireless and that will probably never be supported. Note: if you decide to go with the trackpad kext for scrolling, you'll notice that you have to put more pressure on the trackpad in order to move after each reboot until your set the Z value. Just move it over a bit, if you move it too far right, you'll lose trackpad capability!

I think you need to remove the patch for video in the DSDT to this to work if I read it correctly. Anyway, I forgot to ask, since you're installing onto an USB stick, is this USB plug into either the left side ( USB 2.0) or the right side (esata/ USB 2.0)? The reason I asked is because USB 3.0 port may cause some weird boot issue sometimes.

Check to see if you have lspcidrv.kext in E/E.

Take a look at this http://iFail.me/forum/viewtopic.php?f=77&t=23300. The platformid differs depending on your video ram size. So far on all my Dell E series with the HD4000 graphics, I've been using AAPL,ig-platform-id: 01660003, Stolen RAM for FB: 64MB, Pipes: 2, Ports: 4, FBMem: 2 which gave me the best results. If you have spare HDD, with the updated USB Installer (make sure to run myfix on the Installer too), can you build a fresh install? Just want to validate if it's not an USB issue. I don't have an USB big enough for a build, so can't test that for you.

This just means your display kext is not loaded, no QE/CI. I'll try to rebuild my E6220 again with the attached above bootpack and see if I encounter issue as you. Stay tune... Update: Sorry, it took so long, busy with work stuff... So I rebuilt the E6220 with bootpack attached above and have no issue. QE/CI, HDMI, audio, sleep all work right away. Then I update to 10.8.4, no change. All working as expected. My installer is 10.8.2 with myHack 3.2beta8. I'm on BIOS A12, with all default settings except changing to AHCI and have CPU XD Support enabled. Other than replacing the stock Intel wireless with a Dell dw1510, everything is stock.

You are running myFix on system as well right? Not just on the USB Installer? There's no difference in the dsdt between the 1366x768 or the 1600x900 model, the modded Framebuffer kext is the only thing needed for the 1600x900, otherwise you'll just get a black screen after boot. @ktbos, can you list your Video Memory size? That has an affect on what connector your display is.

lspci is possible through the lspcidrv.kext in E/E. Yes, sorry I didn't mention to run myhack/myfix each time you replace or remove a kext in E/E. Thanks Herve for noticing. I'm looking over osxjeff's Extra and noticed he included his entire Extra folder with files from running EDP as well. Inside Extension are almost the same files as mine. So since you have the same CPU as osxjeff, try using my bootpack with AppleIntelFramebufferCapri and just replace DSDT and SSDTs with his. After replacing the files, launch myHack from Application, select myfix/full to rebuild cache and permission. Hopefully this will resolve your issue. Good luck.

ktbos, What version of Mountain Lion are you running? Just want to be sure you got the correct AppleIntelFramebufferCapri with your version installed and ran myHack to update cache and permission.

No, Dell BIOS is pretty locked down and I haven't found a mod for it to change Video RAM. @ktbos, this is a stretch, but can reset the BIOS to the default and then go back and change only to AHCI and enable CPU XD support?

Try replacing your Extra folder with mine attached below. Make sure to backup yours first. Run myhack/full and reboot. HDMI and DVI output works. Didn't test HDMI audio, so not sure if it'll work or not. Cheers. Extra-E6220.zip

ktbos, From first look of your bios settings, you didn't include if you have CPU XD support enabled under security. If I disable it on my system, it'll just reboot in a loop, so try enabling if you haven't. Second, I see you have the resolution of 1600x900, did you included AppleIntelFramebufferCapri.zip to your boot pack? Looking at log2, it stops at loading the ethernet. Usually video loads right after, so my guess is your video is not loading which brings back to the question, have you include the patched AIFC. Try and report back your result. Cheers.

myHack doesn't run fully in safemode. Go ahead and boot the usb installer with -x -v and select your ML installation. With the -v switch, you won't get the EBios timeout error. Once you're login, launch the terminal and run the following command: myfix -i / myfix -t / The first command will install Chameleon to your HDD The second will install E/E to S/L/E myHack.kext and repair permission. Reboot without your Usb installer. Can you list your cpu and what video you have? ie HD2500 or HD4000

The fix is to update your Chameleon with r2248 or above.
