  1. i guess you are missing mach_kernel on the root of the usb. or whatever you are installing to... it's a hidden file bye the way. here is a link to a tut
  2. have you tried adding Pciroot=1 to the boot.plist?
  3. if its an nvidia graphics model it might be the motherboard. try holding Fn key and pressing F8
  4. wich version of edp are you using 1.8? for cdrom press and hold f12 it should eject cd.
  5. try booting with PmVersion=23 -v (type it at the chameleon boot prompt) if it gets to boot run edp again but without power pack.
  6. as for your first problem to see whats going on with the pinwheel boot in verbose mode in chameleon the option is -v it will run through some code and stop at an error but we also need more info. like your graphics and what version of osx your installing, if you can take a picture of the error in verbose where it stopped that would also help... you can also try -f -v combo and see it it goes further. for the imagescan issue in disk utility select the image file, go to images tab and hit convert. save in a new location then try the imagescan from the new converted image. if still giving issues mount it and repair disk
  7. Hi Al... AHCI is not an option in the d620 bios. but it's un necessary. first off you have to make sure your burning the image correctly. making sure that the final disk is not still an .iso or .dmg.... i did that i remember when i first started this hobby lol. i was making a duplicate of the image file instead of mounting the iso/dmg as a disk to burn lol... i think f10 also shows all drives but give the dvd rom a few seconds for the disc to spin up and register before hitting f5/f10. bye the way is the cd rom dvd capable? also can you boot from cd like a linux distro with the cd rom? they do go bad.
  8. well your boot.plist looks good for a intel graphics d620 except for the pmversion=21 should remove it or change it to 23 for 10.6.8... as for 64 bit gma950 has no 64 bit driver support in 10.6.8... not our fault, it's apples 10.6.2 or 3 had 64 bit support but it was buggy as hell and i never saw them work. keypad and sound also are still 32 bit also but now that lions out we have to keep our eyes peeled till the devs rewrite the code from 64 bit sources when that will be... who knows
  9. i'm having the same issue with chameleon and my d620, it installs and doesn't get past /boot0... i think i will have to reformat my drive. only boots from my thumb drive into chameleon
  10. it should work native... no enablers or null cpu if it's intel gma
  11. originated from this thread also most of the latitudes we deal with here are Intel not AMD
  12. the guide is in the wiki... requires a system password
  13. sleep enabler if you chose it might be the culprit run edp without the option if you can.
  14. check the wiki for the sleep guide. as for chameleon try installing the one in edp 1.8
  15. have you checked out our wiki alot of info there..
  16. i use option 4 on my d620=intel it's a bit sensitive but i don't like the side scroll. as for gestures. they are not working. my d620 has an alps trackpad. but if you want gestures you can always buy an apple blue tooth trackpad. unfortunately not all solutions can be free
  17. Type "man pmset" in terminal for further instructions; it will explain the changes.
  18. yes edp will remove the old kexts like the way you described... test one don't like it run again and test another
  19. hold off your model will not take it lightly, backup S/L/E ! a lot of changes required including dsdt modification and the update is not worth the headache ... no improvements to os just problems but search the forum theres a lot of info on your machine already posted. Simeon is doing an extensive rewrite for that model
  20. lol... too many names Simo... lol
  21. i think dazzler has a dsdt for d630 intel on the forum somewhere that boots lion
  22. after chameleon rev.1116 they want you to rename com.apple.boot.plist to org.chameleon.Boot.plist
