  1. npci=0x02000 can be used alone it's suppose to help in 10.6.8/lion with pci bus. you can try it to see if it helps with nvidia models
  2. a good place to start is to read through our wiki... should answer alot of questions you might have or come across...
  3. try npci=0x02000 at the chameleon prompt also are you using powerpack? if you are then you need to use edp 1.9 on 10.6.8
  4. weird that EDP does not work for you simba as your package is based off of EDP. have you tried a newer chameleon rev? they have built graphics detection into it. latest as of writing this is 1447. this shows in my bdmesg Intel Mobile GMA950 [8086:27a2] :: PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x2,0x0)
  5. ok what version of osx are you loading... EDP is intended for 10.6 and up... not 10.4 or 10.5.. EDP has no yellow kexts must be the version of os your using thats conflicting. you should be able to install 10.6 and edp with no issues
  6. if my memory serves me correct... i don't think EDP uses nvenabler.
  7. first confirm the model and type, d630 with 950 video does not sound right. check in your bios info. then choose the version for your graphics type. or your mobo was replaced with another model.... maybe a d620? no clue.
  8. what resolution does the laptop support? check in bios. then search the forum there are dsdts made for higher res d630's
  9. are you sure it installed to system/library/extensions? could be a cache problem... rebuild permissions.
  10. why would they put a whole section into the bios for the dock options if it did not affect the dock? food for thought. what's the worst that can happen really. it will either help you or it will not.
  11. which version on chameleon are you guys using?
  12. nope you are correct. will not notice it on a screen shot... must be an external pic of the problem
  13. good place to start for info is our wiki then...
  14. cant hurt to post a screen shot
  15. sleep enabler is kernel dependent and they upgraded the kernel with this update...
  16. use kext wizard to put your backed up kexts to s/l/e
  17. make sure the auto dim light sensor is off in bios.. it known to causes dark flickering screens depending on the ambient light around.
  18. check in bios. dynamic something or other... simeonoff has mentioned it a couple of times in the forum
  19. well if you need are going to multi boot or run osx extensively might as well get the compatible option which is the broad com card (dell 1490).. the 1490 gets mixed reviews. i have one and i do not need a kext but other users do. why i don't know maybe it has to do with the revision of the cards? and mine has not been rebranded it shows as Third-Party Wireless Card.
  20. you know what that's a good question about the helper partitions. hmm i havenot used them in a while (more than a year) i don't remember... have you looked at there literature? i stopped using windows somewhere around 10.6.2. so i'm out of practice.
  21. carbon copy cloner should be fine with an external setup. the wifi cards are mini pci-e. here, some feedback from forum members
