  1. run this patch... it should correct your issues EDP prefpane patch.zip
  2. your welcome, and thanks for the tip!
  3. well does it still stop there in verbose with the card in... just another thought maybe try turning off pcmcia in your bios then run -v -x can als try it before changing bios settings, if it boots into snow rerun edp.
  4. ok so d830 intel version is working with d630 build? not with edp d830-intel option?
  5. google chameleon rc2 ver5 rev752 or 753. snow/lion support...
  6. thanks for helping the comunity out!
  7. quote: "I'm not sure how the osx commands below relate to what I'm trying to do." sudo diskutil unmountDisk /dev/disk2 [ENTER] sudo = super user account unmountDisk = unmount /dev/disk2 = location of media whatever it is on your machine (thumbdrive or hdd) "now unpack and recover the image to /dev/rdisk2" this is what your about to do it's not a command sudo bzcat SLD430USB.img.bz2 > /dev/rdisk2 [ENTER] enter super user (sudo) SLD430USB.img.bz2 (file) you are uncompressing to (>) /dev/rdisk2 (disk location) then press enter but you will have to try on your own for i have never used you methode. maybe your methode has instructions to use? try typing help in command prompt
  8. just put a pcmcia card in the slot... in EDP when you choose pcmcia driver= yes it tells you you have to boot with the card inserted... and this is the reason why. not all models are affected but d4x0 are.
  9. maybe something like this might suite you better http://pqrs.org/macosx/keyremap4macbook/index.html give it a try and let us know... thanx
  10. maybe this thread can give you some ideas it's for d830 nvidia but some kexts should work... we don't have any nvidia hardware to test. hence the lacking support for some nvidia latitudes.... http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=253665
  11. try adding to com.apple.boot.plist in extra folder or if it's there change value to 1 PciRoot 1
  12. PciRoot 1 add it to your com.apple.boot.plist a user of this forum suggested it for nvidia why not try booting in to 64 bit also.arch=x86_64 you can test changes at chameleon boot prompt the nvidia's can Handel 64 bit from what i understand
  13. which bootloader are you using... and what type of D820 intel? nvidia? add your specs to your signiture when you have a chance
  14. edp 1.8 has 4 trackpad options when building for desired machine
  15. try reseting bios to defaults
  16. for lucky 7's try a diffrent trackpad option
  17. need to reinstall 10.6.7 combo update
  18. cpus=1 is for tscsync issues we use a kext for that... -v is for verbose output (black screen that shows booting sequence), -f bypasses catches and loads all kexts, -x is equivelent to "safe mode" also bypasses/ rebuilds mkext and performs a disk/permissions check... loads minimal drivers, -s is single user mode. so -v -x is a good place to start. like example: -v -x PciRoot=1 GeneratePStates=Yes GenerateCStates=Yes all in one line at chameleon prompt
  19. add restart fix to chameleon using lizard app in edp... you can also try adding p-states and c-states let us know if it makes a diff.
  20. edp will remove old extra folder and generate a new one. on a build. so you can try other options like power pack or no powerpack, trackpad kext's etc... etc.. it seems we are having a little difficulties with some DX30 machines if building does not work with d830 intel then try d630 intel as the build machine and let me know if it makes a difference but leave that as a last resort... they are verry simmilar in terms of hardware. i do not have a d830 on hand to work with.
  21. re install 10.6.7 combo update and check wiki for instructions
  22. memory and processor are physical it's still there and is not going anywhere, what you see is cosmetic. you can try looking for a newer chameleon boot loader that has more support for your video if you wish like maybe an AN-Val variety or the highest you can find for regular chameleon wich as far as i know is at RC5 rev 750 last i checked a few weeks ago. edp 1.8 has rev 747 under installer try with that.
  23. your best bet is to go to the latest stuff 10.6.7 combo with edp 1.8, im not sure but you might have issues with the my hack installer you downloaded though. now this booting problem your having though is not normal if you formatted the disk correctly... it should be Guide partition not MBR and Do Not use casesensitive whatever you do, on format just use the default (wich i think off the top of my head is journald) once thats done and osx has installed then chameleon should work fine. update to 10.6.7 and all the other major crap thats not safari or itunes or quicktime (that you can do later at your leasure.) install edp 1.8 if you need it edp has chameleon under installer. but all this is on the wiki... well the main stuff. the boot cd i uploaded previously should get you started...
  24. well you can also try pciroot=1
  25. well till your all sorted out use pmVersion=21 at chameleon prompt...as for chameleon use rc5 rev655 or higher you can also try edp1.8 it has a chameleon package rc5 rev 747. and pmVersion=21 is already added in com.apple.boot.plist for your build.
