ELAN and FocalTech (Smart Touchpad) driver Issues

Hi,

 

First of all thank you for your efforts.

 

I tried v3.8.5 but it kept freezing my laptop.

 

Then I tried v3.8.0, it works fine. Tweaked some settings to my liking in plist.

I have two problems with this version:

1. if I want to double click to open folders for example, the cursor jumps on the second click as I obviously touch a little bit here and there compared to the initial click. This causes my second click to be offset compared to the first one.

2. if I start typing then cursor disappears (which is by function) but then it takes around one second to work again. I think this is a part of ignoring accidental clicks but it doesn't work as well as it should.

 

I recently tried v4.0, it works okay with a few problems:

1. it sometimes stops accepting clicks and taps but gestures work.

2. editing continuous scroll in plist doesn't work. I have set it to false but it still scrolls continuously.

3. two finger drag doesnt work anymore like in v3.8.0

4. FEATURE suggestion: three finger movement of windows like Apple's trackpad.

Send me your System log after booting with my kext installed. Also tell me how did you install the kext and OSX version/bootloader?

My touchpad driver seem can't install into my OS X Yosemite (using Clover boot loader)

 

First, I tried using the latest beta v4 1.8.2 ,and I follow the installation steps. After finish install the kext,I reboot my laptop. It seem like auto reboot over many times . No matter I use save mode ,It still auto reboot. I did tried boot without kext ,seem like stuck in somewhere. It just can't boot.I think the system is in kernel panic.

 

After that, I reinstall the os . Then I tried install using v4 Final. Same thing still happened .Auto reboot....

 

So I reinstall and tried v3.3 and v3.8.5 final . Still the same ....

(P.S. I am new in this mackintosh thing,so sorry about that)

 

 

 

I tried to enter safe mode And enter without cache and without kext to see what is the problem. It just kernel panic. And I cant fix this problem.

First of all i want to thank you for this kext!!!!!

 

My pc works only with v3.8.5 and v4 now i installed the v4 i noticed that if i drag two fingers from the top the window that

is in focus getting in full screen...

 

I don't believe that it is a bug but a pre-installed feuture...if it is can you guide me how to uncheck it? 

 

One more thing that am not sure if it's happening from this driver i sometimes have some or a lot squares or rectangulars boxes randomly in the screen and inside them they are blue with a lot of moving dots...If you are familiar with this i really want your help!!!

I want to disable the continuous scrolling but that won't work. the continuous scrolling stil persists.

And I experience a problem with the middle mouse button; i don't like it on my trackpad so I would like to disable this.. Is there a possibility to do this?

Hi,The Driver work really well for me.

I user ASUS N550 JV,and the touchpad is v4.

However ,I find a problem that I meet the sleep and wake issue.

I don't know whether it's because of the PS2 keyboard.

 

My notebook keyboard use PS2,and when sometimes(Mostly it happens after longtime sleep).When wake up ,the system restart (Without any system log T.T ).But mostly it wakes vary well.

I find that there is not :ETD: Keyboard disabled..... when it not wake well.

I wonder if there are something wrong with my DSDT?I check device PS2K and PS2M but can't find something specially.Here is my DSDT.Can you just check it ?(Or need I give your more such as IOReg information? If Yes,please PM me and I will immediately give you).

 

I try some versions of your driver:3.5,3.8.5,4.0 but it seems useless.And I try many your driver plist but this sleep/wake issue still happen..

 

I don't know what to do next..Can you help me ?Or is there something I can do to give you more detail?(Such as debug mode?)

  I have the ApplePS2ElanTouchpad.kext injected through Clover on my Yosemite (10.10.1) Hackintosh, and it does work perfectly sometimes. However sometimes (usually after a reboot) the trackpad refuses to work (although the keyboard gets detected and works ok).

 

During the boot (with the -v option in Clover) I can see some messages similar to:

 

ETD :: failed in setting the touchpad to default state

 

I've done some research and found this kind of issue also occurs in Linux, and that some fixes were recently implemented for Linux:

Hello thanks for your driver!

I want to disable the continuous scrolling but that won't work. the continuous scrolling stil persists.

And I experience a problem with the middle mouse button; i don't like it on my trackpad so I would like to disable this.. Is there a possibility to do this?

Wait for my new update which will solve those scrolling issues. And what you mean middle button? default 2f tap act as middle button which can be swapped to 3f by setting Trackpad prefpane option "Tap trackpad using two fingers for secondary".

First of all i want to thank you for this kext!!!!!

 

My pc works only with v3.8.5 and v4 now i installed the v4 i noticed that if i drag two fingers from the top the window that

is in focus getting in full screen...

 

I don't believe that it is a bug but a pre-installed feuture...if it is can you guide me how to uncheck it? 

 

One more thing that am not sure if it's happening from this driver i sometimes have some or a lot squares or rectangulars boxes randomly in the screen and inside them they are blue with a lot of moving dots...If you are familiar with this i really want your help!!!

Its Edge swipes and these have improvements along with bug fixing in next update so wait for that. You can disable that if you don't want from plist so read my Features thread or read me file.

I've already implemented fix for this in my driver. Did you set v3HwLegacyMode flag in plist?
