joot
OK, I think I finally got to the root of the problem with my Dell D830 (x3100) post installation problem. Again I have a Dell D830 with x3100 hi-res 1900X1200 LCD screen. It would randowly freeze or cause kernel panics. I believe it has something to do with the AppleIntelGMAX3100FB.kext. Here's a screenshot of the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated...
iMick
Have you installed our EDP package?
joot
I tried installing the EDP package, but afterwards, the computer would not boot. It froze at the beginning of the boot. The DSDT.aml didn't work for some reason...
Administrators Hervé Posted April 22, 2013 Administrators Share Posted April 22, 2013 More likely a problem with chameleon boot file and NVRAM module. What do you see with a -v boot flag when it freezes?

chasmataz
i have the same issues with edp giving me the blackscreen. the 3100 version doesn't like the new edp for some reason (atleast not on 10.7.5). with the myhack generic extra it boots fine, but i get no sound, when i choose the edp low res extra, black screen. tried the 630 extra, won't boot at all. anyway, just trying to make clear the original poster was talking about the intel 3100 graphics, not the nvidia version (they gotta be different dsdt?). Administrators Leon Posted July 23, 2013 Administrators Share Posted July 23, 2013 With the model you have there, you need to use the model pack called Dell_Latitude_D830-intel2/ You can get the raw files from the link above. Also, you can select the high res model in the model overview. The D830 series (intel in specific) most likely have diffrent LCD from diffrent vendors, so one DSDT might not work for the next model.. aka.. this is damn hard to fix.
